Roots and Fruits is a partnership model of peace and education that empowers children, ages 3 -5, to investigate who they are and where they come from, "roots, " and discover their unique gifts, "fruits, " that they can share with the world.

Through experiential learning, games, dialogue, community exploration, and self - reflection all those present are taught to explore all aspects of their cultural identities, families, ideas, multiple intelligences, faiths, customs, traditions, beliefs, music, movement, games, and ways we can work togetherto create peaceful communities.
Services
Roots and Fruits focuses on the whole child and being fully present in mind, body, and spirit. It emphasizes creativity and collaboration in the learning process. It is developmentally appropriate, and includes activities and projects that center on culture, arts, and most importantly imaginative PLAY.
One Tree promotes 11 principles, which come out of the words: Radical Love. Radical Love means embracing compassion for all humans, crossing all boundaries, and honoring all beings because they are special. One Tree teaches those they serve to see the love and light that each person holds, and empowers people to work together to create peace and love in our community.
To provide a safe, nurturing, and creative environment which promotes the healthy growth and holistic development of each child. To work in partnership with families in program development and daily practices to ensure success for each child. To build partnerships with community resources - bringing community members in and exposing the children to the community outside of the walls of Roots & Fruits.
After watching our daughter blossom so happily in her first year at Roots and Fruits, we were counting the days until we could get our son into the program as well. It is a great feeling to know that our children are not only safe and happy, but also being introduced to issues of diversity, global awareness and social justice at such a formative age.
We teach the power of our "roots" that each of us has and empower the children to explore their backgrounds. The cultures explored depends on the children present each school year. We explore race, family backgrounds, elders, vegetarians, faith, etc. The families are encouraged to share their food, music, perspectives, holidays, beliefs, clothing, etc. with the class.
