While pioneering the profession of massage therapy along the Gulf Coast, Susan Salvo was frequently sought out to teach her specialty -- massage-oriented anatomy and physiology. The Louisiana Institute of Massage Therapy's curriculum was developed from workshops Salvo created and taught in the early 1980's, formally establishing the Institute in 1987.
