EAST Pine Preschool is a new school founded on principals and curriculum that have been developed and proven over many years from a recently retired preschool teacher. This curriculum focuses on building a foundation for reading, writing and math skills. While using the strategies of 'growth mindset learning' as we focus on sound recognition and blending.
We learn one to one correspondence as well as how counting and use that for the beginning tools for future Stem education. Hello there, I'm Michele Holyoak, a growth mindset educator, certified in elementary education. I currently hold a degree in elementary education with an emphasis in history from Idaho State University. I was born and raised in Pocatello. In my youth, I became passionate about Taekwondo. I received my black belt at age 15 and began working as an instructor of students from age 3 to 12.
The curriculum and activities for the 3-year-old class is designed to help your child learn how to learn. We will be learning how to follow directions. We will develop motor skills through cutting, creating and beginning to put pencil to paper. We will be focusing on name recognition, letter-sound recognition, and counting and number recognition up to 10. Color and shape recognition will develop through crafts and imaginative play.
