Alvin Saur started as a dozer operator at the age of 16. In 1952 he was called to serve as a combat fighter of the US Army in Korea. When he came home in 1953, he went straight back as a dozer operator for a local company. When the owner died, the family sold all of the equipment to Alvin, and so began Saur Construction in 1957.
Alvin was advised by Clara to slow down and retire in the '90s, but he wanted to help his employees who were dedicated with the company since it started. Wayne, who also served our country, grew up sitting in a dozer with Alvin. He started operating their machinery ever since he could reach the pedal.
