Services
Eyton Shalom, M.S., L.Ac., has been a Licensed Acupuncturist in Practice in San Diego, Ca since 1992. He has been a Subject Matter Expert and Assistant Chief Examiner for the State of California Acupuncture Licensing Exam, and was an Acupuncture Clinical Supervisor and Professor of Chinese Herbs and Nutrition at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Mission Valley, San Diego, for 6 years.
In Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture we use cupping for pain of all types, acute pain, sports injuries, and chronic pain. Its also great for Pre-Menstrual tension. Cupping is a method of treating disease that is caused by local congestion. A partial vacuum is created in a cupping jar, usually by means of heat, which is then applied directly to the skin.
Moxibustion is a common treatment used in Acupuncture to to relieve all kinds of muscular and fascial pains, such as you see in arthritis, neck, shoulder, rotator cuff, frozen shoulder, forearm, upper and lower back pain.

But heat also "moves the qi, " and the moxa leaves being spicy, have a very "yang" nature, so that they can also strongly open channels, especially when blocked by cold, and relieve pain caused by Qi and blood stasis, Cold and Dampness, as seen in osteoarthritic pain.Moxibustion is also used to warm the Uterus in cases of pain due to cold and blood stasis.
Dry Needling is the single most effective method for releasing "activated" painful trigger points in muscles and fascia. Trigger points are focused areas of hyper-irritability in muscles and their related fascia Dry Needling is also used to stimulate motor points. Stimulating motor points with dry needling causes tight, shortened muscles and fascia to return to their normal length.
Chinese Herbal Medicine is one of the therapeutic methods of Classical Chinese Medicine. Classical Chinese Medicine is a 2200 year old written tradition, created by the literate intelligentsia of ancient China. The people that invented paper, silk, gunpowder, and the compass, also developed a system of medicine that reached a high level by the Han dynasty.

I was visiting the San Diego area in July. I took a chance using the web to find someone that performed dry needling. I could not have made a better decision. Eyton was outstanding and exceeded my expectations both from a dry needling standpoint as well as someone that cares tremendously about his patients. If you are in the San Diego area and in need of dry needling, I highly recommend Body Mind Wellness Center (Eyton). Thanks again

Eyton Shalom is such a kind hearted, gentle and caring soul. I appreciate his wealth of knowledge , his great sense of humor and his excellent skill. I have severe needle phobia but he has a very gentle way of needling me that I keep returning numerous times for the calming after effects of each treatment. I highly recommend him , he will not disappoint!

Eyton is the best, I consulted him for GERD and allergy symptoms. He listens to you and explains everything in a relatable way, which makes sense and you will be on track for recovery. I treated with acupuncture and herbs which helped me a lot. Would have given more stars if its possible.

Eyton was very patient in explaining the process of dry needling. Not to mention, he was able to relieve pain that I thought was impossible to do after suffering for many years. I highly recommend trying it out, you won't regret it.

I see Eyton for acupuncture to help manage eczema flare-ups. He's extremely knowledgeable about how to treat skin conditions using acupuncture and homeopathic herbs and blends. I've been visiting him weekly for a month and my eczema flare-ups have been non-existent most days, and way less uncomfortable and dramatic on the days when I've reacted to allergens. I look forward to my weekly appointments because I know I'll gain more insight into how acupuncture works and how I can control my skin condition from the inside out.

Dr. Shalom is clearly a master with over 20 years’ experience. He is both highly skilled and highly compassionate. He helped me get back my lung capacity after having COVID last March. I’m breathing much better and feel that the muscles in my chest and neck are relaxed like never before. He also took extra time to teach me some helpful mindfulness exercises and gave me some complimentary herbal tea.
Overall I’d highly recommend him to anyone for mental/emotional as well as physical rebalancing. He’s fantastic!

I've now seen Dr. Shalom for 6-7 visits for a chronic lower back problem (I have a pretty large bulging disc) that has kept me in pain virtually every day for the past 18 months. At times to debilitating levels. I had tried epidural injections, PT, (more traditional) acupuncture, various chiropractors, various exercises and several other things to try to put me back on a path of healing. A friend of mine suggested seeing Eyton and I was initially curious to also try ayurveda and cupping to see if that would help. I wasn't familiar with dry needling beforehand.
After a few visits I started noticing
