I've been here twice. The second time we went was worse than the first. My 2nd time here I brought my mom and girlfriend from out of town. My mom ordered the most expensive item on the menu being the steak at 90$ medium(medium is her choice not mine) , I ordered the ribs that were 32$ and my girlfriend ordered Parmesan encrusted chicken. To make it short my ribs were done 15 to 20 minutes before the others food and got cold waiting to be served. My mom's steak came back rare to medium rare and my girlfriends parmesan encrusted chicken was just chicken with parmesan thrown on it. My ribs were sent

Thank you for making my father’s retirement dinner so special! I called and made a request to cover their meal (I am out of state). And they helped track down their reservation and run my card. They were very friendly and and did not seemed bothered by these additional requests on what I am sure was a busy Friday evening. Thank you!

I don't believe the hours they have listed on Yelp are accurate. It states closed on Sunday but we are there for dinner on a Sunday evening --check their Facebook. The food was delicious. My sirloin was prepared to perfection and tasted like a filet I've had at chain steakhouses. The firecracker cauliflower was superb. However the service was fairly slow--2 full hours for 6 pm dinner with an appetizer and salad course. We had two young children in our party and they were very restless by the time we got our main courses. If you want plenty of time for conversation then it is the perfect

Beautiful atmosphere overlooking Big Detroit Lake. The food is expensive for what you get but honestly you're paying for the view. My Caesar salad had a lot of dressing. Next time I'd ask for it on the side. He had the au gratin potatoes and I had the Yukon Gold. Neither were anything special. The salmon was perfectly prepared. Service was friendly.

Went here because of a family reunion/gathering and we reserved a large portion of the restaurant for supper. Maybe it's just me but I feel the prices didn't fully justify the food. I had their pork chops, and the flavor was really good. The outdoor seating is beautiful with the lake view. Their bar selection was very expansive, and the Manhattan I ordered was as enjoyable as I'd hoped for. Staff was friendly and we did talk with them for a short bit.
A very nice place, but damn the price puts me off so much. A 4-person meal was $133, and that's wild in my eyes.

Wow, unbelievable atmosphere and the food was excellent. The waitress was extremely accommodating for our party of 7. We ordered desserts, $4 Thursday special, and she asked us if we wanted to move to patio for desert and coffee where she proceeded to provide the excellent service that she provided inside. I will definitely be back!

I've been here several times but this is the first time I got a seat near the beautiful windows that look out to the lake. This is a cozy restaurant that does food right. Tonight I started with a delicious Pinot noir which was recommended by the staff. They have a great happy hour and I ordered the scallops. They were done perfectly. They were fresh and the 2 large ones were on a bed of pea purée and had some micro greens on the side. I had the crusted walleye as my entree. I got it with a fresh salad and Yukon mashed potatoes. The walleye was cooked perfectly and had some nice crunchy

I'm sorry to do this. I don't send meals back and I don't leave serious criticisms on restaurants. At least I didn't until this experience.
This event was at a 50th Anniversary Dinner reservations for approx 30 family members. Three different servers and definite experience differences in each server. And the guests of honor were not in subset A! Of the remaining entire group Half

We were warned prior to going in that this place is hit or miss and should have heeded advice. Both our meals were awful. Chicken was overcooked and pasta was bland and dry. Presentation of food was terrible. Nice view of lake, but front room is an oven with subpar blinds and a too small wall air conditioner. Service was slow and food overpriced with poor quality.

Sitting here at The Fireside, finishing up a meal of crusted walleye and I have to agree with a lot of the other Yelpers. This is a 3-Star only because of the "average." The food/price is sadly only 2-Stars but the service is definitely 5-Stars.
The price for the food you get is significantly more than it's worth. Neither the fish or steaks are local or "fresh" and the crusting I had on the walleye simply overpowered the fish entirely.
However, I would come back. But only because the service here is top notch. The service staff is friendly, attentive and quick. I was

After a long travel day from Philly I trusted my fellow Yelp-ers and gave Fireside a try. Very good ! I had the Walleye Almond Crusted local special with au gratin potatoes. The fish was delicious fresh and served very simply and hot in temp. Waitstaff we're very friendly and lemon drop martini was super. Give them a try if your in the Detroit Lakes MN area.

Very enjoyable dinner on the lake with good food and good service. I would recommend this restaurant. I enjoyed a dinner of fillet steak with Yukon gold mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli along with a Moscow Mule to drink. The steak was well prepared and was a good cut. I ordered it medium well and it was closer to well done, but it was still mostly tender and flavorful. My wife enjoyed the linguine pasta.
Overall the food was very good, the service and ambiance were great and we enjoyed our dinner. I wish the weather had been better because the view from the dining room would have been beautiful
