Business litigation in the Wilmington, NC area is a principal focus of our practice. Litigation may arise in connection with the development, operation, or dissolution of a business. We represent companies in state court litigation arising out of contract disputes, debtor-creditor disputes, security interests, title disputes, fraudulent transfers, corporate governance disputes, and collection matters.
Realizing that someone who owes you money cannot pay you in full and on time is usually a very unsettling feeling. When a debtor enters bankruptcy, creditors must first determine the value and priority of their claims. Then, they must file a proof of claim with the bankruptcy court before the deadline in order to preserve their right to be paid.
Our emphasis on Business Law in Wilmington and southeastern North Carolina comprises business formation and dissolution as well as drafting corporate documents such as operating agreements, shareholder agreements, corporate bylaws, corporate resolutions, contracts with third parties, and Articles of Incorporation and Organization.
We routinely advise our Wilmington and North Carolina clients regarding various estate planning strategies that may benefit them. We draft wills, trust agreements, and other documents to make sure our clients' wishes and preferences are clearly expressed and successfully implemented. Carter & Carter represents clients who are serving as the personal representative of a decedent, whether as executor, executrix, administrator or administratrix.

Mr Carter and Heather have been extremely helpful, knowledgeable and professional during our process of estate settling. In a situation where I knew nothing of how the process was to be completed, they were always in contact and had a grasp of how to reach the goal. I highly recommend using Carter and Carter.
