I have been seeing Dr. Chen for 8 months for surfing-related musculoskeletal strains, as well as intercurrent problems that have arisen during this time. She is the best acupuncturist I have ever seen. She has been able to quickly eliminate these pains and has enabled me to continue surfing at an intensive level. She is compassionate and considerate and is broadly trained, having been trained in acupuncture since the age of seven by her mother who was both an acupuncturist and an MD neurologist in China; and Dr. Chen herself was also a practicing MD ophthalmologist prior to emigrating from China

This is an update to my previous review. At that time, I had done six sessions and had seen good results.
We had originally planned for 12 sessions, but after 11 sessions I had to leave town and return to school in Texas. By the time I returned, I would say my pain scale was at a 1. In other words, I was still aware of a tightness and occasional twinge in my piriformis, but the sciatica pain was gone and I could sit, stand, whatever. In addition to stretching exercises I was able to add strengthening movements and yoga to my therapy routine.
I feel like the acupuncture was a resounding success

I just received a massage from Brenna Galves at the Tang Clinic. It was by far the best massage I've had. Brenna has so much knowledge and really taught me some things I can use to help my health in the future. The Tang clinic is going under some redecorating but the talent is already there. Do you body and mind a favor and check this place out, right off the 805, easy to get to! :) As we were finishing Brenna said "welcome back to your body" that won't make sense until you get massages by Brenna, thank you so much!!! I will be booking again no doubt!

Dr. Yeqing Chen is a godsend. I came to see her when I was having to take ibuprofen 800mg twice/dy at least 3 days/week due to migraines that I've had for over 25 years. After just a couple weeks of treatment I was down to just one day of medication!!! I am so grateful to have found her and to be rid of so much pain. Dr.Yeqing is so experienced--she knows where the pain is and where is originates. She learned acupuncture from her mother and started practicing when she was only 7 years old. She is also very kind and really listens to understand your health. I have been treated by 2 other acupuncturists

After years of sitting too much I developed what many other Americans suffer from-severe, debilitating back pain. When it elevated to severe sciatica-I became desperate. I had an MRI that showed a cyst growing in my spinal column. The symptoms similar to a slipped disk.
I went to a specialist at Scripps and was provided 2 choices-one was surgery-not an option for me. I was referred to Dr. Chen at Tang Clinic for acupuncture.-something very foreign to me.
Starting with 2-3 sessions the first 3 weeks I began to feel much better. I have continued with weekly sessions and feel dramatically better

Dr. Yeqing Chen is a very experienced and excellent acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist. I would say she is one of the best in San Diego. I felt so lucky that my serious postpartum related sleeping problem was solved after being treated by Dr. Chen. In addition, receiving acupuncture and taking herbs restored my physical balance in a really natural way.
I am also very impressed by her medical morality, and her friendliness.
Acupuncture is amazing, however, finding a good practitioner is what matters in the first place.I 'd highly recommend Dr. Yeqing Chen to anyone who is interested.

Can't say enough about this brilliant, dynamic mother/daughter duo. Both have Western Medical Degrees (Neurology and Ophthalmology), both are Acupuncturists and both instruct at UCSD. Dr. Chen is President of CA Alliance of Acupuncture Medicine and Dr. Tang instructs Professors at two Traditional Chinese Medicine Colleges in China. I knew nothing of their extensive training when I first took my mother who suffered from Alzheimer's Disease and who had severe back pain. The doctors were so gentle and caring with my mother and were able to alleviate her chronic back pain and greatly reduce stress

Dr. Chen is simply amazing. I was studying for the CFA exam and I was super stressed out.
I was also very stressed out from working. I was afraid of needles, I thought they would hurt.
But to my surprise, it didn't hurt at all. I had gotten 4 massages over the past month and they didn't help at all. Acupuncture sessions helped me calm my mind.
I realized, massages can only calm my muscles but the stress would come back because my mind was all over the place in this extremely stressful world.
If you haven't tried Dr. Chen, I would highly recommend it. It is much more effective

I am seeing Dr. Tang for the second time. She takes the time to really understand your whole situation and is very sincere about curing you. I have major pain in my hands diagnosed as arthritis which she cured 8 years ago. It returned and she is making great progress with treatment.
She considers her patients as friends and wants to see you better.
