Our entire staff is committed to superior veterinary care throughout the life of your pet and quality client satisfaction to you, the pet owner. Our veterinarians and staff strive to offer not only sound medical advice but animal education as well.
Thompson Peak Veterinary Clinic is owned by Dr. Ryan DePaul. He was raised in Surprise Valley, CA on his parents' ranch. He graduated from Surprise Valley High School in 1997 and attended the University of Nevada, Reno. While going to school he spent 4 years working for the UNR Experiment Main Station Ranch and worked on numerous research programs including Foothill Abortion Trials.
A complete physical examination is important in keeping pets happy and healthy. Thompson Peak Veterinary Clinic recommends regular examinations and vaccinations to ensure your pet's well-being. Each patient has a full medical history taken by our veterinarian, followed by a complete physical exam. Vaccination recommendations are personalized to your individual pet's lifestyle.
Wellness care- "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." That saying holds true for horses as well. As part of our routine care we provide vaccinations, deworming, Coggins testing, and dental care. At the time of service, we can discuss any issues you may have with your horse including nutritional needs, training programs, geriatric care, etc.

Thompson peak veterinary hospital is very clean and very thorough, also they have a very caring and kind staff. The Dr. had a very loving and caring attitude with my fur baby, she reassured me that everything was going to be alright and gave us the medication we needed now 3 days later my fur baby is doing just fine and back to eating again. We will be going back for our vacation in two weeks. I feel that my fur baby is in safe hands with Thompson peak veterinary hospital and I'm sure you will too.

My pup Ham needed emergent care for some type of infection and swelling on his face. They couldn't fit us in that day but they did get us in the next day by allowing us to drop him off. They also worked with us in terms of payment so that we could get him taken care of. We are so appreciative for them. And they absolutely give their best to the animals they care for.

I moved here recently and had to find a new vet to take my baby to. I love Thompson peak vet. All their employees that work there are amazing. You can really tell they all love their job and our fur babies. Would recommend them to anyone hands down best vet in the area.

Everything was great, people are really nice there. They are really fast too when it comes to emergencies and normal everyday animal issues. Had an emergency with my dog that was fixed the same day. Took my cat in to get fixed and again the same day it was finished. The prices are great too, cheaper than most places. The counter people are really nice they'll work with you on payments for the most part. They have specific payment options, not too sure on that as I didn't ask about the programs they have available for us poor people. The area is always clean when I come in, the parking lot is decent

I just want to say Wayne and his staff are amazing. My dad took our cat in today after he noticed that something wasn't right and our cat wasn't acting right. After an xray and exam we found out Max had been… shot by someone and his Femur had been shattered. Wayne was honest and upfront with my father's questions and said that the best option was to ampute leg this way our cat could still have good quality of life compared to the costly orthopedic surgery that would leave our boy home bound and unhappy. Dr. Joe and Dr. Nash treated my dog for what appeared to be blunt trauma (car strike). Dr. Joe was professional, kind and empathetic towards us. I was very emotional and he treated me with dignity and respect… while calming me and discussing our options. He also took time to explain our dogs injuries to our 12 year old daughter with compassion and concern without 'freaking her out.'
