After 20+ years of professionally working in the beauty industry, Laura opened ROOTS the Beauty Underground and devoted herself to serving the community through the education of clean cosmetics.

J.Lee Janice Lee aka J.Lee began her career specializing in the John Sahag DRY cutting method. Her skills include fine, detailed bleach-free highlighting, natural low-maintenance organic color and voluminous silky blowouts. She has been passionate about the art of hair design for over 20 years. Like a painter with a palette, she loves to create organic color formulas uniquely developed for each client.
Bring in a photo for inspiration or allow one of the ROOTS Beauties to customize your look. Bring your makeup bag with you (including makeup brushes) & we will assist in customizing your clean cosmetic swap outs! Without the use of needles, ear seeds are placed on certain points proven to balance hormones, calm the nervous system, clear stagnation, move lymphatic fluid and encourage blood flow.
ROOTS cleans & sterilizes all surfaces & handles with Hypochlorous Acid (HOCL) non-toxic, antiviral solution before & after interacting with each guest. Our Certified Organic Salon is equipped with a Molekule Air Filtration System for your breathing pleasure. All makeup brushes, hairbrushes, combs, scissors, tweezers etc. are thoroughly washed with organic soap, sanitized with HOCL & UV light before & after each use.

Just had my 2nd visit and they are amazing here! J Lee colored my hair back in Dec. 31st and it's still looks good! I love that they use healthy and organic products here AND they are all so helpful and friendly too. Today I had my hair cut by J Lee and it looks awesome. She's a very talented hair styling artist : ) Laura the owner is super nice and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and to get me in for appointments even when they are booked up. I researched everywhere in town and they came up on top, so I'm happy I made a good choice!

I am so impressed with the personalized recommendations for my skin and makeup. I told them what I wanted and how I normally apply my make up and they really listened. I very picky about my mascara. First off, their return policy is clearly described on their website. They do not do returns or exchanges, especially on opened products. It's not the store's fault. They carry are small, organic lines and the returns to the actual company are impossible (it's not like buying at Nordstrom, where a return doesn't make a dent in their profits). They do offer samples, and as someone with very reactive, acne prone (and almost 9 months pregnant) skin, I love that.
Secondly, this store is amazing. Their selection is incredible, they take TONS of time with you and they are super sweet and knowledgable

I thought I would love this store. The salesgirl (Might be the owner) was very rude when I took back an item for exchange (I was not asking for my money back). I was looking for body cream and loved all the scents. She told me the unscented was the best. I purchased and when I used it at home-it had a smoky milky scent that was very unpleasant. When I took it back to inquire if she would exchange-she was very abrupt and rude and said she could not because it had been opened. I will not patronize this store again. She should have been more willing to compromise as I would have been a loyal customer
