Martina is a Board Certified Massage Therapist who graduated from The Utah College Of Massage Therapy in 2002 where she learned techniques such as deep tissue, injury recovery and energy healing. Martina holds a massage license in Maryland (license #R01463) and is also certified Massage Therapist through Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP) and the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB).
Sense 2002 Martina has worked with children, the elderly and all ages in between. She often works with athletes (from high school to recreational to elite professional levels) toward injury prevention and recovery, reducing chronic pain and correcting musculoskeletal dysfunction. The knowledge that we are always changing is ever present in her pursuit of continuing excellence in education and in the application thereof.

Services
Deep tissue massage is often confused with deep pressure massage. Deep pressure massage means a constant, strong pressure throughout the session. Deep tissue massage can indeed have a significant amount of pressure behind certain techniques but deep tissue always has a goal. It is used on ailments like chronic pain, recovery from injuries, limited mobility, postural problems and muscle tension or spasm, among others.
This essential "time element" has to do with the viscous flow and the piezoelectric phenomenon: a low load (gentle pressure) applied slowly will allow fascia to elongate.
Trauma, inflammatory responses, and/or surgical procedures create Myofascial restrictions that can produce tensile pressures of approximately 2,000 pounds per square inch on pain sensitive structures that do not show up in many of the standard tests (x-rays, myelograms, CAT scans, electromyography, etc.)The use of Myofascial Release allows us to look at each patient as a unique individual.

Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) is a system of assisted stretching which focuses on the muscles, joints, and connective tissue. With the client on a treatment table, the therapist will help you stabilize your body as you are gently helped into specific stretches to help facilitate relaxation and movement into your joints and body.

24 Hour Cancellation & Late Policy: Our clients are obligated to contact us 24 hours in advance for cancellations. If 24 hours is not given then the client must pay full price for the session they missed. What to Wear: Please wear athletic clothes that your comfortable moving in. We suggest for men to bring or wear spandex shorts or boxer briefs, running short or basketball shorts can be worn over them for comfort.
