A preventive program is a cooperative effort by the patient, dentist, and dental staff to preserve the natural dentition and supporting structures by preventing the onset, progress, and recurrence of dental diseases and conditions. Digital radiography (digital x-ray) is the latest technology used to take dental x-rays. This technique uses an electronic sensor (instead of x-ray film) that captures and stores the digital image on a computer. This image can be instantly viewed and enlarged helping the dentist and dental hygienist detect problems easier.
Fluoride is the most effective agent available to help prevent tooth decay. It is a mineral that is naturally present in varying amounts in almost all foods and water supplies. I would like to thank Dr. Nelson and his wonderful staff for cleaning my son’s teeth and for doing a last minute filling before he gets his braces put on. I normally take my children to the Chickasaw dental clinic in Tishomingo. Their clinic is still closed, so I took him to Nelson Family Dentistry. The sweet lady cleaning my son’s teeth found a small cavity that needed to be filled. Even though they had a full schedule, they graciously made time to do the filling right then. I can’t thank them enough! They are great people!

Dr. Nelson is a new dentist for me. I can’t say enough good things about him and his practice. He and everyone working there, were very friendly, nice, and knowledgeable. As advertised, my experience was ‘pain free’. I had a broken tooth, and needed a crown. For my situation, it was all handled perfectly in one appointment. Many thanks to Dr. Nelson and his staff!!

I went in for a tooth extraction and I was there for like 2 hours, but the actual extraction with him pulling out the tooth took him like 5 minutes. That was like the fastest tooth extraction I've ever had, and I've had several! Dr. Nelson is very experienced, professional, and kind. I also like the view out the window of a pond with ducks and the TV on the ceiling so if you keep your eyes open while they work you have something to watch. I'm definitely going back to them. They were able to see me quickly, they are competitively priced, and it's a peaceful office.

I had a Bad experience with one dentist and was in search of another. I had 4 front teeth removed and a temporary bridge installed then it fell out, that's when the trouble started. I was sooo fortunate to find Dr Nelson and ended up with a Really Nice bridge. Thanks to Everyone at Nelson Dentistry. GREAT JOB !!! 😁
