Inspired by a Southern Cajun dining experience, Blue Crab Grill's unique style is a signature restaurant in Laurel. Owners Shane and Andrea Thornton have served their classic homemade menu items including gumbo, oyster half shell, grilled mahi, blue crab cakes in Waynesboro since 2013 and expanded to the great city of Laurel in 2016.

Harvested for quality, our oysters are held to the highest standards that can be achieved. We should be easier on them, as ugly as they are; but no! You mean too much to us. And the taste of a fresh Gulf Oyster is a thing for all to enjoy. At R&A oyster, we sell over 500,000 oysters a week, and offer a range of packaged oyster products for any need you may have.
At Blue Crab Grill we serve fresh fish, shrimp, & oysters weekly! We receive a fresh seafood shipment from our suppliers in Biloxi, New Orleans, and Alabama coastal lines multiple times a week. Our favorite fresh fish varieties are speckled trout, flounder, grouper, redfish, cobia, salmon, mahi mahi, triple tail, snapper, and triggerfish.

Excellent fried green tomatoes! The cornmeal breading was perfect, not greasy, just a nice flavor and crunch. Jazzy shrimp po boy was more than ample and tasty. Service was very considerate and friendly. Offered drinks to go and brought us separate box and tubs for the gumbo and rice.
Decor was kind of industrial but booths were comfortable.

Full of anticipation, read the reviews. Oysters, good! Well we went in at a little before noon on a Friday. Four patrons already there. Thought "well, we are still a little bit early". Were seated and about five minutes later our server, pleasant, arrived and took our drink orders. I asked her when the oysters had arrived. She went off and conferred with the hostess before going to the kitchen. "Yesterday". Great, I'd like a half dozen, raw. We also ordered the shrimp and crab dip. Our iced tea arrived a few minutes later. We talked about Laurel a bit and our food arrived

So here we are, this was a good place when we first went there a few months back. It just seems like the last few times we have been here that they have went down hill. The seafood tasted old crab and shrimp, we feed it to our pigs. I ordered the chicken fettuccine ,straight from the box it tasted like. We gave it to our pigs. The server was nice and talkative, we paid our bill and tipped the server because he didn't prepare our food only delivering it to our table to be very disappointed. I'm sorry but this place has gone down hill very fast. You must care about your food to cook good

Food was good. Fried catfish was juicy and crisp even after a 20 minute drive home with pickup order, fried okra was excellent and the Parm fries weren't my favorite, but not bad at all. The restaurant looked clean and comfortable for the short time I spent inside and the staff were very friendly and inviting even though they were technically closed (1400-1700 I believe) when I picked up my order around 1410. Prices are a bit higher than the competition, but it's justified in my opinion. Especially for the amount of food that you get and it definitely tastes like you're eating at a restaurant and

Went for dinner. We ordered the crab cake, fried green tomatoes and crawfish Julie appetizer and it was amazing. I had the shrimp poboy, which had blackened and fried shrimp on it and was awesome. My sister had the shrimp and grits and said it was just as good! The waitstaff was awesome, friendly and attentive. Thanks for a great dinner!

Food was amazing! I was there with my mother and sister for a quick visit to Laurel. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and can't say enough good things about the service. Highly recommend! We arrived early and got what might have been the last table before the lunch crowd arrived. Reservations recommended, but any wait is worth it!

Blue Crab Grill is one of the better places to eat in Laurel, MS and they offer a nice size serving of food at a good price. The seafood here was overcooked during my visit and all four of us eating found our fish and shrimp overcooked but there were still some good flavors in the food so simply tweaking the cook time and temp a bit could dramatically improve the experience here. I would definitely eat here again but I might not choose the seafood options until I hear they have mastered their seafood cooking skills better. Overall this is an easy spot to park at and the prices seem to be a better

Service was good, and nice size portions, but prices were high compared to rest of area. But come on - sugar in tarter sauce??? You don't put syrup on catfish, why would you put sugar in the sauce? Okra was good but hush puppies were still wet and doughy. The side of coleslaw was the same size plastic container you would put ketchup in and it wasn't good.

Stopped here for lunch. The steamer plate with shrimp was great. Cooked just right. I had the special, crawfish pie. I wasn't crazy about it. I asked if it was cooked like a chicken pot pie. Waitress said it was. It wasn't! It's more like a quiche. Service was good. I'll come back. I'll just get something different next time.

I arrived and grabbed a menu to find more sides then I was told on the phone. I asked of I could change a side to another and was told it was too late. I had ordered five minutes prior to arriving and waited over 15 minutes for my order. Really, no time to change salad to steamed broccoli? Seemed the hostess was not interested in walking back and asking.
So the food. Sweet potato fries were luke warm
and tasted old. I actually didn't finish them. The shrimp

I had the crab cakes and vegetables. I wasn't a fan of the seasoning on the vegetables. The crab cakes and sauce were good. The crab claws tasted fine as well. They sell them based on market price. SN: No one was wearing masks, not employees nor patrons. Also they were cleaning the tables with the same dirty rag and spray. That's rather unsanitary in my opinion. Papertowels and the spray would have been a better option.

As fans of the show Hometown, we decided to take a detour through the sweet little town of Laurel on our way back from the beach. We had seen Ben Nappier eat at the Blue Crab Grill on one of the shows so we decided to eat there. My husband and I both got the Shrimp and Grits. It came with a side salad but it was a pretty big salad. Both were delicious. Service was great. We would recommend this place.

What can I say? We weren't sure where to eat, looked through what was near and said let's try the Blue Crab. We tried several things and it was all fantastic! Seriously though, go here and eat. Great food, great prices, and great service.

Great experience for our first time to the Blue Crab Grill. Starting with Rosie our server... great attitude and very attentive. The restaurant is small but we'll spread out. The menu is obviously slanted to fish but there was a good variety.
We started with fried green tomatoes that came with a Crawfish Julie sauce. The serving was generous and the tomatoes very tasty.
Next we both had the Catfish-Shrimp combination. One with fried and the other with grilled catfish. Both were fresh, tasty and seasoned perfectly.The shrimp was fried. One dish with fries the other with veggies. Both had crunchy

My wife and I were here on a Thursday evening. They open at 5 pm and parking is ok. It sits across from a mall so you can park there and a very short walk across the parking lot has you at the door.
We arrived just before 5 to ensure quick seating. We were seated quickly and our drinks came promptly. The staff was very nice and accommodating.
First order of the night was shrimp and crab dip. The cost was $8.75. It was very good. The chips had what appeared to be Old Bay Seasoning as well as parsley sprinkled on it. The dip was a bit over seasoned in my opinion...still very good.

Arrived a little before 5:30 and was given a wait time of 30 min for a party of 2. Once seated our waitress was very attentive. We ordered the shrimp and crab dip for an appetizer. It was delicious! For our meals we ordered the shrimp platter grilled & the shrimp & grits. Both were great! The shrimp & grits was a hearty portion & could almost be shared. Overall a great experience!
