Our surgery suite is equipped with 2 isoflurane gas anesthsia machines and a pulse oximeter monitor ensuring that your pet will be safe while under anesthesia. Many surgical procedures can be done with the variety of instruments that are available for the doctors to use during surgery. All surgical packs and equipment are sterilized in an autoclave prior to each surgery.

While hunting in NW Iowa I had an urgent need to get my dog into a vet. Dickinson Co Animal Clinic was so helpful in working us in that day. Dr. Den Herder was extremely knowledgeable and professional while seeming like an old friend. Very comforting to know your dog is being seen by a professional that cares. Staff was courteous and apologized for delay even though they were doing me a favor. All that and price was below what I would expect for an emergency visit. Wish I could give 6 stars.

Friendly staff, my dogs love going to doggie daycare (day boarding) here, have kennel boarded as well with no problems, have resolved my senior dog's health issues and now my puppy's health checks, as well as adult cats' health checks. Handled COVID-19 well with techs coming to my car to get pet for nail trims & appts. Vets & techs are knowledgeable & answer my questions well. I feel like part of the family and they care about my pets.

Our regular vet felt it would be best if we took our sweet little girl Stella to Dickinson County Animal Clinic to have her spayed. It took a little time to get her in as naturally their serving a vast community, but so worth the wait. My husband and I went through the itemized statement and felt rather pleased with everything they did. They took so much care with Stella. I could not be more grateful. I would absolutely recommend Dickinson County Animal Clinic.

I have taken my dogs to Dickinson County Animal Clinic for close to three years since moving to the area. I have always had great experiences as the staff are all very compassionate. This weekend one of my dogs ear became very inflamed and he was very uncomfortable. They were so kind to fit him into their schedule today and got him taken care of. I’m so grateful! Will always take my pups here!

To say the least, my chihuahua will not go to anyone & is not pleasant to deal with unless you are me or my grandson.. we could do not wrong in his eyes! With that being said he will let me stick my fingers in his mouth to brush his teeth, but trimming his nails is off limits! Everywhere else I have ever taken him, I have had to hold him tightly… struggling between each nail, but these kind folks wisp him away & 5-7 minutes later they bring him out with shorter nails! WOW! You guys have no idea how incredibly impressive that is to me! I mean...he even pooped on them & their response

A big thank you to Dr.Dirks for his services last weekend for our dog Jack. Although we were not his regular clients he met me within 15 minutes twice over the weekend. Jack’s a diabetic and had a very serious blood sugar drop. He brought him back and checked on him multiple times via text throughout the weekend. He also did multiple other tests to try to figure out some other problems. It was very appreciated!
