Angelo's Italian Restaurant was established in 1947 by Angelo and Kathryn Meloni, who grew up during the Great Depression. Having experienced poverty and hunger during his early years, Angelo wanted to have a restaurant so his children would never be hungry. He started his business in a small way by opening his restaurant in one room and later added another room upstairs, where his family lived till the early 1970s.
