Riverview Nursery & Garden Center was founded by Donald A. Haas in 1973, and has grown to be one of Berks County's largest and most respected garden center, nursery and landscaping companies. In 1995, Donald Haas' daughter, Diane Salks, took over the business, making Riverview a 100% woman-owned business.

Herbs can be used to make teas; perk up cooked foods such as meats, vegetables, sauces, and soups; or to add flavor to vinegars, butters, dips, or mustards. An herb is any plant used whole or in part as an ingredient for health, flavor, or fragrance. Many herbs are grown for their fragrance and are used in potpourris, sachets, and nosegays; or to scent bath water, candles, oils, or perfumes.
Growing your own vegetables organically ensures healthful produce and saves you the high prices of organically grown produce at the grocery store. When thinking about how to start growing vegetables, the first thing you'll want to look at is seeds and placement. Situate your vegetable garden in a sunny place and start growing food early in the spring.
We carry a wide selection of plant material selected just for our growing zone. With the improvement in breeding techniques, today's plant material blooms longer, in some cases, re-blooms, and is more disease and pest-resistant. Evergreen and flowering shrubs are the backbone of any landscape. Whether it is in a foundation planting or a garden border there is a wide range of plant material that can add depth and dimension to your garden.
Please call to inquire about our tree selection. We mention trees for educational purposes below that we don't carry, we carry trees suited for our Hardiness Zone. Trees are the source of many of the world's best known fleshy fruits. Apples, pears, plums, cherries and citrus are all grown commercially in temperate climates and a wide range of edible fruits are found in the tropics.

This place is so cute & they have a really great selection of house plants. I can't say much for the other plants. This was my first time there. When I walked in, someone assisted me immediately & knew where all the products I wanted were. My only complaint is that their prices are a bit steep I purchased a 4" long air plant for $15 & found the same species & size online from a very well rated air plant shop & they sell the same size & for $15 you get a pack of 5. But I needed the plants quick so I purchased them. They are in excellent condition & beautiful

Overpriced, no customer service and rude employees. You are better off going anywhere else. Tree prices are high and the warranty is lousy. Telling someone that "nature is what it is" to explain why a white birch tree purchased with green leaves, now blooms with red leaves is unacceptable from someone with a plant business.

Riverview is such a magical place that I add it to my destination list when visiting Eastern PA. I can always find lovely gifts to buy, and the service is impeccable. I never leave empty handed. I like to just wander around the store and the grounds and imagine I'm living there! Their plants I've taken home have had the best longevity of all my house plants, and they always manage to survive the long drive. I only wish I lived closer so that I could take advantage of their landscaping services for my pathetic front garden!

Inquired about a large elm tree they had for sale today for $179.00 price tag ON THE TREE, went up to the office and the girl said oh no that price is last years price todays price is $249.00. It is May 24th here, I was going to have them deliver and plant also and she said it could be $250 or more they dont know. Needless to say I am shopping elsewhere.
