Established in Missoula, MT in 2013, Great Divide Physical Therapy believes in the philosophy that patient care should be effective, educational, and efficient and patients should take an active role in their health. Over the last four years our therapists, staff, and patients have been living and improving on that mission.
My brother had an excellent experience with Dr. Skinner to change his walking mechanics after a previous knee surgery. He suggested I see what Dr. Skinner could do for me. Dr. Skinner was able to use ASTYM and other techniques to gain a significant increase in my range of motion. Dr. Skinner was able to increase my dorsiflexion and helped me regain a normal range of motion in my ankle.

We are a collection of therapists who value each and every patient and are dedicated to our patient's success. We believe that patient care needs to be effective, educational, and efficient.
Our physical therapists have a long history of helping patients improve their quality of life. At Great Divide Physical Therapy, we strive to help you heal and empower you to live a healthy and productive life. Kate received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Montana in 2005. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Nutritional Science from Montana State University.
We believe that educating our patients on the condition, treatment, and how it is affected by daily activities is one of the most important treatment techniques we use. Manual Physical Therapy is a specialized form of physical therapy delivered with the hands as opposed to a device or machine.
In manual therapy, practitioners use their hands to put pressure on muscle tissue and manipulate joints in an attempt to decrease back pain caused by muscle spasm, muscle tension, and joint dysfunction.ASTYM treatment is a soft tissue therapy treatment that regenerates healthy soft tissues (muscles, tendons, etc.), and removes unwanted scar tissue that may be causing pain or movement restrictions.

The Hypermobility Solution is the best way to educate yourself on what causes your hypermobility pain, while you also learn how to properly implement techniques that will help you improve your posture and stability, increase your strength, mental fortitude and significantly reduce your pain - regardless of how bad it feels right now!
At Great Divide Physical Therapy, we use different techniques to help alleviate pain in the abdomen related to previous surgeries. Scar tissue is an issue that many people deal with. At Great Divide Physical Therapy, we use manual techniques as well as ASTYM treatment to improve overall mobility and decrease pain.

I am a paraplegic and since working with Lisa I am very impressed with the strength, balance and posture I achieve with her help and guidance. She is innovative and changes it up so I never get bored or complacent. The receptionists are inviting and personable. Great divide is a comfortable environment and i always look forward to going there.

After going to four doctors, which included an MRI and X-ray, the doctors' agreed there was swelling in my knee, but that they couldn't do anything to help me except for painful knee injections that did not work. I was feeling defeated until a friend suggested Great Divide. Within 15 minutes with Kate, I had a diagnosis and was on my way to recovery. She was thorough, understanding, reassuring, and open to questions. She always told me what to expect with my knee, so that I was fully prepared and knew exactly what to do. My knee has gained strength and we are now working on endurance, but most
