Ata Karate For Kids
My love for Martial Arts started in college in 1987 when I took my first class for self-defense. I continued training in a variety of different styles of martial arts until I came across ATA in 1992 and the positive impact it had on my life was remarkable.

It was always my dream to someday own my own school in Denver & Westminster and create an enjoyable environment for students to improve their fitness while building the confidence they can carry into their everyday lives.Take advantage of one of our amazing web specials today - join us as we empower ourselves and our community with martial arts!

Called about a week ago to ask about age requirements. I was told 4 +. When I mention my son was only three I was told I could do two week trial. The first class not really well Vanessa was amazing. This class was at 4:30. The second class my son had trouble focusing and paying attention. This class was at 6:30. When a teacher/owner approached us after the class she dismissed it as him being too young. I tried to explain to her that the 430 class went well and maybe the 630 class was too late. However she did not listen to me and was all too eager to go talk to the other students parents. I&apos

Master Patty Lorenz is a great instructor who owns the school. We feel very comfortable talking with her and she is very honest and upfront with everything. We have gone through some difficult times and she was willing to work with us! As long as we communicated with her and followed through with what we agreed to everything worked out just fine. I really respect her and what she does for our kids. The Life Skills alone has helped my son develop respect for himself and to show respect to others. Great family business and very down to earth. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND taking classes with Master Patty Lorenz

My children have been attending Master Lorenz's schools for more than 11 years. My son started classes when he was in kindergarten and is now going into his senior year of high school a 3rd degree black belt. I have 2 other children attending with one more ready to start. We have loved the schools and instructors from day one, to the extent that we drove from Littleton to Westminster for class for several years. A couple of instructors have come and gone over the years, but the core teaching staff has stayed very consistent. Patty has always been nothing but fair and up front with costs and

ATA Thornton, Westminster, Denver – Do NOT sign a contract
Short version: Following our years-long experience with the ATA Thornton, Westminster and Denver schools, we would never recommend this school and feel like we should get our story out to the community to inform our friends and neighbors of the unprofessional and disrespectful treatment of its customers. (I can’t speak to the experience at other independently owned and operated ATA schools). I believe that martial arts can be a valuable activity for kids and adults, but I cannot overstate our frustration and disappointment with the

Our negative experience with this ATA location is multi faceted, we did make the mistake of making a impulse decision in signing a 3 year contract, and I own my mistake. When my family signed up it was initially off of a Groupon deal we bought in 08/2016. We thought this would be a good activity for my step daughter and a fun family activity, we were told about different weapons and gear packages they had available, at the time we told them we were not interested right then because it was very expensive, (for my family of 4 it would have been around $2400+) we were then told by the location manager

My Son and I currently take classes here and my daughter did until she left for college. The classes are very well structured and they make it fun! I highly recommend for kids as well as adults! It teaches discipline, confidence, as well as self defense. The staff are extremely friendly and encourage us all to do our best. They have changed my entire family's lives for the better with not only our health but with our bonding as well. My son at 15 still loves going to classes together every chance we get. I cannot explain in words how much this has helped me personally ... come out and see my family

I started taekwondo here with my son. It was a great bonding experience and as we both became better, it became even more fun and competitive. Eventually the entire family joined in. The instruction combines mind and body exercises. It's a great workout.

I really enjoy the classes and the instructors. Classes provide a variety of activities such as sparring, weapons practice, form work, "xtreme" weapons and forms, and combat weapons. Physical fitness is incorporated throughout the classes as well.
The classes are well organized.
The instructors are highly qualified and are able to work with and provide feedback to students individually, and as a group. They are great working with children, teens, and adults.
I enjoy the people, both students and instructors, that I have met and work out with at ATA!

We've been part of this studio for the past 2 and a half years, my kid has been hooked up from when he was 4. Friendly and helpful instructors, he is doing great in sparring, and started working on weapons now. It helped him a lot in gaining confidence, been doing great in school.

My son has been taking classes here for over a year now and he loves it. In addition to learning some great self-defense skills he is gaining self-confidence and discipline. We love the instructors...they are very knowledgeable and have fun with the kids (and adults). I definitely recommend this school if your child or you have an interest in learning a martial art.

I would highly recommend this Taekwondo school. Dr. Skulley, Ms. Lorenz, and Mr. Williams are all fantastic instructors and are very knowledgable of the material.
The programs are fairly priced and MUCH lower than other martial art schools in the area. The quality of instruction is very professional and fun! These instructors are there to help you learn, get in shape, gain self-defense skills, and help incorporate life skills into day-to-day life.
This is a fun and structured activity that's good for the whole family! Great for the little kids (4 years old) all the way to adult!

My entire family began training with ATA Leadership Martial Arts 11 years ago. The physical and mental training has been outstanding helping us to be disciplined, strong, and successful in our everyday lives. The combination of learning and putting into practice the values of mental and physical training has helped me to achieve things I never dreamed to be possible in my life. Today impossible, tomorrow possible.

Pros:
- My son enjoyed the classes here (for about 3 weeks).
- Classes are well organized. With attentive instructors.
- Weapon training of various kinds are a consistent part of classes, which my son liked a lot.
Cons:
- The weapon training felt a bit gimmicky to me, but I don't know if that is just my bias.
- Parents watching classes were often disruptive and I was disappointed that the instructors didn't maintain a good environment around the class.
- They will not disclose prices until after your kid has attended a couple of weeks of free classes. Then there is a HIGH-pressure sales
