I really loved my visit here. I am not a huge fan of massages, because I always wonder how I can "get out of my own" head in 30-60 minutes of silence! But I had a terrible back ache from a non-athletic, low-stakes pattern of bad posture. It wasn't going away, so I figured I'd get outside help.

This is an oasis of relaxing massages in downtown Highland Park. They have the nicest people on staff from the receptionist who makes the appointment when you call and greets you when you arrive, to the terrific massage therapists on staff. In my travels, I have had massages in many cities, and for me, Therapeutic Kneads ranks as #1.

My husband started going here about 3 years ago after a sports injury and physical therapist recommended. He was anti massage and came out the first time able to stand with less pain and stiffness. After 4 or so visits re recommended that I go since I was having some aches from standing and walking all day with my job. After I worked with Jennifer multiple times I began to see increased mobility and less daily aches. Juan was the very best massage therapist I've ever been too. I came in with horrible migraines and neck pain and I left feeling 100 percent better. He's professional, kind and VERY STRONG! He gave me a good stretching tip as well. The front desk staff is eh at best but they are worth dealing with to go see Juan. He was great!

I have had apts two or three times with Therapeutic Kneads and can't wait to come back each year. I live In Co and I have yet to find not only a facility like this at home but an amazing Therapist like Sherry!!! She is by far an away the best Massage Therapist i have ever had the opportunity to work with! She know exactly what I need and what my body needs. I like enough pressure for it to be relaxing, but also to loosen up tight muscles from exercising. Given my preference on pressure points, I was referred to Sam. An amazingly disappointing experience. I went in for a prenatal 60 minute massage, and although my therapist couldn't have been nicer, it wasn't as much a massage as an hour long lube up. I asked her to use more pressure, but it felt more like she was smearing me with lotion than massaging muscles. When i walked in I asked that the tension in my shoulders be relieved, and when i walked out...it hurt no less

This was quite possibly the worst massage I have ever had.
I would describe it as a very light rub down with no lotion/oil. After requesting pressure multiple times, I still got a rub down. Gayle I'm sure is a lovely person but the worst massage therapist I have ever been to.
She didn't use any lotion/oil for 1/2 the session. Ouch!!!!!!! Pulling my skin. It was the most bizarre experience ever.
Not to mention the ticking clock.
DO NOT GO HERE. You're better off sitting in the massage chair at the nail salon.
60 minutes for $100.
Go see a personal trainer to stretch you out

I'm very happy I found this place and gave it a try. The staff in the front is very friendly and helpful. The place itself is very clean and makes you feel welcome. I called to book a massage as I was dealing with some muscle spasms in my neck and back. I was helped out by Karen and she not only did a great job with the massage I received but she also explained to me what I was feeling - that helped just as much as the massage did as I tend to worry a lot and understanding what I was feeling was wonderful. I'll definitely be going back to this place and I highly recommend you try it out

On a whim, I called at 1pm on a Friday and was able to book a 1 hour Swedish massage. Jessica was excellent. I was so relaxed and happy that I ended up buying a package of
4 massages for $320 (which is a savings from the normal $95 per hour rate). The package needs to be used this year but they send you a gift card with the balance if you don't use by that time. I have been patronizing Therapeutic Kneads for several years, usually on an emergency "everything hurts" basis, and they have become an essential member of my community of wellness providers. (It takes a village.) The therapists are excellent, partly the result of a painstaking screening and hiring process, and the office is well-run as well as immaculate. The other benefit is that they are open 7 days a week and have evening hours on weekdays, so they have always been able to fit me in and accommodate my schedule. Horrible first impression for a business I actually looked forward to visiting. This was a bust before even walking thru the door since they decided to charge me for canceling an appointment with less than 24 hour notice, even though I booked that appointment less than 24 hours beforehand. I wouldn't really call this good customer service losing a customer before their first visit.

I just had a session with Chandra and am so much better for it. I got deep tissue work done and her approach was very creative and highly effective. She found the source of pain that I wasn't necessarily aware until it was gone.
I also really appreciate that the intake form asks what type of music you prefer. I can't relax to nature sounds.

My mother is a very sick woman who needs to be handled with extreme care. I was hesitant about getting her a massage because i knew she would have trouble getting adjusted on a table. I also thought that a massage therapist may be afraid to touch her with all her medical issues. Wow, was i wrong! Not only did she get a massage, the therapist came to her house where she would be most comfortable. Her therapist was hand picked just for her based on her needs. It took me a while to realize this but the best massages do not necessarily take place in those zen-heavy spas that offer cucumber water. In fact, the best massages are those that truly understand how the body works. Such was the massage I got from Therapeutic Kneads.
