D's Family Restaurant is a place for the whole community to connect and feel "at home" in Alma, Arkansas. We are located in the newly renovated Meadors Inn Hotel, where guests and passersby are free to stop in for a bite. Couldn't have been better. We're just passing through on a road trip, but if I was a local I would be a regular here. We had a variety of dishes at our table from breakfast to full dinners. Everyone was very pleased with their meal. Service was exceptional too. By the way, I noticed most of the 1 and 2 star reviews said the food was good. Service is important, but some critics on here seem a little harsh because they weren't offered a refill or had to ask for their check. Really??

We had breakfast here after an overnight stay at the adjacent Motel 6 (which was great). Service was fantastic! Plenty of room, so no one was crowded or cramped. There were a plethora of breakfast options (breakfast served all day b/t/w). I had the No. 1 (I think)...eggs, hash browns, 2 sausage patties, biscuits and gravy...wow! My wife had the pancake breakfast and she loved it! Lots of pancakes on her plate with plenty of syrup in the side. Super filling and tasty as well. The sausage patties were the weak point here, really thin and not a lot to them. But overall a really tasty way to start

I ordered ribeye steak medium rare, tap water, sides are fried squash and salad with blue cheese dressing.
The food came like this: steak is Very salty, you might need to take that into consideration for your personal condition. I personally like salty food a lot, still the salty level was way too much for me. I asked for medium rare, and it came more on the cooked side (see picture 4 and you decide). Most of the food was pretty good, the rolls and mac and cheese were disgusting. We were not asked if we wanted dessert but was served a receipt... We also had to ask for refills on our drinks. My sister requested refills our waitress took our cups but someone else brought them back... When asked who had the tea who had the water I pointed out very nicely she has the tea I have the water... With eyes rolling from the other server we were handed our drinks... This will not be a location we come back to on a regular basis when making our trips to Alma...

I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. The food the staff was more then I expected. I had the chicken fried steak breakfast. It was cooked just the way I asked. The fried potatoes were cooked perfectly. I'm really picky when it comes to my breakfast potatoes. My sister had the ham omelette. There was so much ham and cheese in there you couldn't have asked for more. This is one of the best omelettes I've ever tasted. The biscuits and gravy was nothing to write about.
