Families will want to choose an environment where the patient will enjoy staff, activities and feel comfortable. Families often prefer a location close to home or work. Wit and wisdom are some of our elders most valuable traits, but their health situations can become complex in spite of their knowledge on life.
Having facility care means having several professionals to notice health changes and behaviors that can indicate needs or disease changes. Skilled Nursing is a recovery solution for patients who are not doing well enough to go home after hospitalization. It is also a solution for families who have a loved one.

The goal is to use nursing, physician support and therapy to improve the patien'ts ability to function independently so he or she can go back to thriving at home.As a general example, a knee or hip surgery patient is generally seen by Physical and Occupational Therapy 5 to 7 days a week. Treatment times average 50 minutes per discipline based on the resident's tolerance level and physician need.

Families may use long term care insurance and private pay resources for many of the same services a skilled nursing patient may use when recovery seems limited or extended and hospitalization / insured benefits have been exhausted.

My dad went in as a rehab patient straight out of the hospital, planning to be there only a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, he passed away after additional health issues about eight weeks later. He had always said if he had to go to a home, he just wanted to die. (About seven years before this, he had to have rehab and we used another home. He cried a lot, wouldn’t eat, and complained about everything.) From the first day he was in Grove Nursing Center, he loved it. He raved about the food choices he got to choose from and was crazy over all the nurses. We always felt very comfortable and welcomed

A very poor nursing home a lot of aids and nurses are only there for a pay check not to actually help there residents they will complain about how horrible a resident is. Then the management is no better when you are having a problem they don’t care what your problem is they do not handle the situation very professional. If administrators actually hired help that wasn’t there JUST for the PAY check and those are the ones that run off good amazing help. If you would like to be treated like a dog an walked on by your “ CHARGE NURSE “ then this is the place for you.. They will cuss at you
