We teach Kali Combat System, a powerful integrated warrior art designed for the street and for real life confrontations. The art teaches effective striking and grappling, stand up and ground, as well as weapon fighting and defense in all ranges of combat. Our Kali cohesively blends the concepts and methods of several battle tested traditional fighting arts under one comprehensive combat system.
It is comprised of Bruce Lee's self-expressive art of Jeet Kune Do, Ip Man's efficient art of Wing Chun, Chinese mixed martial art of San Shou Gung Fu, South East Asian indigenous fighting art of Kuntao Silat, the devastating weapon based warrior art of Filipino Kali, the proven grappling art of Jiu Jitsu, and the internal health and wellbeing art of Tai Chi.

Sifu Kamille Louis is the owner and head instructor of Combat CFMA, Center of Functional Martial Arts. He is a master instructor with over 35 years of martial arts teaching experience and is certified in 10 different arts. His expertise includes combative arts such as Filipino Kali, Kuntao Silat, JKD, and Jiu Jitsu, as well as the internal health arts of Tai Chi and Qi Gong.
Jeet Kune Do / JKD (way of the intercepting fist) is a martial art created by the late Bruce Lee by using Wing Chun as the foundation and blending concepts and methods from various Chinese Gung Fu fighting styles as well as other martial arts such as Western Boxing, Fencing, Savate, Muay Thai, Judo and Jiu Jitsu.
Silat, also known as Kuntao in some regions, describes the powerful martial arts of South East Asia. Kuntao Silat has traditionally been practiced in secrecy and passed down within family and clan members. Today, like most other martial arts, Silat is being taught to the public and it is one of the sports included in the Southeast Asian Games.
Jiu Jitsu translates to mean Gentle Art. The concepts and techniques were developed around the principle of using an attacker's energy against him, rather than directly opposing it. The focus is on how to manipulate the opponent's force rather than confronting it, and on utilizing the most efficient grappling methods for neutralizing an enemy such as throws, take downs, pins, escapes, reversals, chokes, and joint locks.
Tai Chi and Qi Gong are compatible traditional internal arts that have been around for hundreds of years and are practiced by millions of people due to their overall health benefits. The objective of both of these arts is to develop one's natural energy and improve total health and well-being and ultimately achieve harmony in mind, body, and spirit.

My grandson attended group classes at CFMA. He loved the teachers (Sifu Louis and Guro Brenda Louis). They had patiences with all the young students and showed attention to him as an individual. He truly felt special even though his class was a group class.
The classes gave him an inner self-confidence and pride when he achieved different levels of abilities.

My way through the martial arts has been a life-long pursuit. I have studied Kenpo, Kung Fu, Kickboxing, and Systema for a total of 14 years with some amazing teachers that were both talented and respected before I discovered this school. When I became a corrections officer, I sought out this school because of my awareness that they offered training for law enforcement officers. I came in for one class, and I knew immediately that this school had practical and functional things to teach me. It enhanced my subject-control abilities at work, and Sifu was patient and helpful in guiding me through

Great school, great instructors, great program! I started over 2 yrs ago with zero experience and horrible coordination, but with practice and the willingness to move forward with the program I have become more confident in many aspects of life and in my ability to protect myself. I recommend this class to anyone looking to learn self-defense and or to just better your all around fitness and awareness. 2 thumbs up!
