Often, complicated and entrenched pain problems do not respond to traditional treatments despite the inclusion of manual therapy and exercise. You may need an approach that is both specifically focused and comprehensive enough to address all the factors that sustain the pain in your unique situation.
Many pain problems, even if they are longstanding, can be resolved. I am a licensed Physical Therapist with over 35 years experience treating patients with chronic pain and complex pain situations. I teach other Physical Therapists, Occupational, and Massage Therapists how to address difficult and complex pain conditions.

It is especially true when it is your own child. My youngest daughter has cerebral palsy and left hemiplegia caused by a stroke she had while I was pregnant with her. Nightmares occurred making me wonder how this child will fare in this world with such a disability. My prayers were answered when we were led to Rachel Katz, PT.
In response to a question about incorporating Somatic Experiencing Trauma Therapy into a hands therapy setting, I want to share some ideas. Gentle light touch can be highly effective for many clients because the therapist can help the client's body start to wake up in the area that is being touched.

Rachel has a profound understanding of the human body and is an incredible practitioner. I have had access to many wonderful bodyworkers and chiropractors but she is the only professional who has been able to quickly resolve mid/upper back and neck pain that has afflicted me for many years. I had dramatic improvement in my pain levels within one session and after two, extraordinary improvement in my range of motion. I really cannot recommend her more highly!

Rachel is amazing. She is very dedicated to helping chronic pain issues. Rachel's experience allows her to try several different healing methods. When it was clear that any physical method wouldn't help me. Rachel showed me that my stress was causing the pain. Now I am on my way to being pain free. Thank you Rachel.

I had terrible pain in my right leg for months. I had seen 3 doctors (all of whom had different opinions) when one referred me to Rachel. She worked with me for weeks, teaching me new ways to exercise weak parts of my body. She even made a tool for my foot that I still use to relieve pressure. I would have given 5 stars for that experience alone, but recently I called Rachel again for help. I had not seen her in two years, and within in days she called me back with advice on how to deal with the issue. Rachel has the knowledge that comes not just from learning, but from a passion to help. HIGHLY

I found Rachel by chance because she was the only provider in my insurance network who had experience with cervical spine PT. After years of sports-related head and neck injuries and whiplash, I was having daily headache and spasms in my neck. Rachel returned my first message when she was driving home from skiing and gave me an initial appointment that day as soon as she was back in Boulder. After three appointments I noticed a huge improvement in my range of motion, and soon after that I was able to return to skiing despite being told by a DO that I would not have a season. Needless to say, starting
