My name is Erika Chavez and I own and operate Kosmerika Organika hair salon in Ocala, Florida. This is a full service organic salon, so I use non-toxic haircare products, from shampoos, conditioners, treatments, hair color, etc. I only use certified organic brands, one of them is Oway (organic way), an Italian line from Bologna, Italy.

Erika came up with a great plan for my transition to gray by bleaching highlights so that there would be no visible rootlines as my dark brown color grew out. I have gotten many compliments on the strategy . My hair was not damaged by the processing. Erika’s cuts are always great . I’m not one for spending much time styling my hair so a great cut is key.

Erika is so friendly and a very talented hair stylist. I came to her salon to do the Japanese hair straightening treatment, which meant I'd spend several hours with her throughout the process. The hours went by really quickly and I was very pleased with how my hair turned out. All chemicals were organic so I didn't have to worry about chemical damage. This review a few weeks post treatment and my hair is the same way it was since day 1 of the treatment. I plan to go back for my touch ups every 8 months. Highly recommend!

On Jun 18,2031 I went to Kosmerika hair salon for a Organic keratin treatmemt. After the treatment my hair look good but after a couple of hours my hair got very gresy and my black hair stared to change from black to brown.
My hair is soft Black and I never have brawn hair. I honestly don't recomend this salon. It's very expensive. Erika is very polite but I wanted a good service,not a nice and frendly person selling a good service that didn't provide.

The experience my daughter and I had from start to finish was more then we expected. Erika is an exceptional stylist and offered advise on styling and much more. I would recommend this business to anyone who is looking for great customer service and a wonderful experience getting your hair done. If I could rate higher I most definitely would!! I've been there twice. Both times were excellent. Erika gave me a great cut, the products she uses smell amazing, and it was the most relaxing experience I've had in a salon. Super zen. I look forward to going back for that alone! A 10+ experience.

***Update***I'm heartbroken to lower this rating and write this downgraded review, but I have to be honest. It turns out that this hair straightening was a bait and switch. Erica advertises Japanese straightening, but it is actually a keratin product and not a permanent straightening. Therefore, after 5 weeks, my hair is back to where it was. $500, including tip, is too much for one month of straight hair. Erica's super nice, but wasn't up front with the brevity of how long this would last.

I just had the best experience of years of hair cuts and colors. Erika is truly an artist with color. I made a decision, with much apprehension, to transition to grey.

I am so lucky to have found Erika's salon! I was looking for someone to do the Japanese hair straightening and came across Kosmerika. I've had this done in the past and it turned out well, but definitely not as well as when Erika did it. The products she uses are superior to anything I've ever experience before. Not only is my hair exactly how I wanted it, but it's also much healthier and softer than it's ever been before.
