Purple Dragon Preschool is a combination of day-care and pre-school. The foundation of the school lies in the belief that every child is unique that must grow and develop at his own pace through intellectual stimulation and social interaction.
Our mission is to teach each child to value himself and those around him, to be proud of his accomplishments, to appreciate work materials and toys, to apply his reasoning powers, to excercise self-control, and encourage imagination through the use of puppets, music, and art materials. Our strategy to accomplish our mission lies in teaching each child discipline and ability to reason by solving problems.

We reside within - but are not affiliated with - the Immanuel Lutheran Church located on 1700 Westport Rd. The entry point of the parking area appears as a long driveway on Genessee with a white house and our playground to the left of the drive. Follow the drive all the way up and you will come to a small parking lot with a visible "Purple Dragon" sign.
Before enrollment can take a plan, Purple Dragon Preschool requires a mandatory, individual interview with both the parent/guardian and the child. This interview can be scheduled with the director of the school by contacting the school's primary telephone number (816) 753 - 2973 during the school's operating hours.
We work to provide an excellent environment in which children can build the skills they need in order to meet or exceed their age appropriate developmental milestones. Our learning objectives help students become globally aware, to realize that they're part of an interconnected society, and to learn how to navigate and ultimately succeed in it.

My son attends Purple Dragon and it is the best education and love my child could receive. Your kid will leave reading. All of the staff are great and the owner is a genius. My daughter did not attend but I had her tutored there twice a week and she was taught to read a full book in a few months. My daughter had confidence going into kindergarten which was so important to us. I highly recommend this school. They also do karate and come home with information I didn't even know. GET IN THIS SCHOOL IF YOU CAN!!

Ms. Mila and her team has educated our two children since 2014. From day 1 we couldn't have imagined a better place for them to learn. As opposed to most child care centers that solely provide day care, Purple Dragon is education-based. They are proud of the work they do, and it shows in how they respect the inherent love for learning in each child. They focus on reading and math, as well as life skills such as table manners, interpersonal development and self-discipline. Karate and the holiday program are highlights each year. We will be sad to leave when my son graduates given it's been a part

I had my child in a different day care which my child did not like at all. She would cry every morning and did not want to go. It was a struggle every day. My co worker told me to give Purple Dragon a call and see if they had any openings. My co worker said her child loves it and is even learning karate. I called and was told they had a short wait to get my child in. After my child started, it was like a whole different child. Gets up in morning ready to go and on weekends all she talks about is Monday when she goes back. I pick up a happy child every day after work. It really makes things so much

My daughter has attended Purple Dragon for over a year now and she has made incredible strides in her speech, learning and behavior. The teachers are great, and the class is limited to 40 children. They stress education, manners, and also teach the children Russian. If you want the best place for your child to get a start in their education, I highly recommend the Purple Dragon. I don't view it as a day care - it's a school.
