Mr. John Tillery founded Amarillo Testing Laboratory in 1972 as a Construction Materials Testing company. In 1976, Ray Tillery, his son, purchased the company and began providing Geotechnical Engineering. To reflect services, Ray changed the name to Amarillo Testing & Engineering and incorporated the Company in the State of Texas in 1976.
AT&E has extensive familiarity with local construction techniques having successfully completed a substantial number of projects. Full-time personnel are available to observe construction and/or provide quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) testing and observation. On every project, AT&E obtains a clear definition of your goals and expectations to effectively deliver the right engineering solution for your project.
Mr. Jose A. Gonzalez, P.E., recently joined the team at Amarillo Testing and Engineering, Inc. Growing up in the Texas panhandle area he graduated from Texas Tech in 2015. He moved to Houston where he worked as a civil structural engineer in the oil & gas industry. In his time in Houston he worked on major projects as a project engineer.
In 1972, John Tillery founded Amarillo Testing Laboratory as a Construction Materials Testing company. It was an admirable feat considering the Amarillo Air Force Base closure and state of the local economy. John was resilient and successfully managed the Company until 1976 when he sold the business to a young engineer by the name of Bernard Ray Tillery, his son.
