There's a monster in my head that yells at me and tells me how awful I am, all the time. I feel like I can't do anything right. Even if I do, the monster tells me how and why I should have done it better. No matter what choices I make, it's always there, criticizing, demeaning and horrible and I know that monster is myself.
It comes out in my dreams as ugly nightmares. These are emotions that so many people feel on the inside, and it isolates and incapacitates. But it's a normal response to stress and trauma, and there are ways to overcome these reactions. Please contact me, let's work on this problem together. All of us have times in our lives where we feel like we are being tossed in the waves with no way to steer.

I have a master's in clinical mental health counseling through Lamar University in Beaumont Texas.
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprossessing. It is a technique that helps your body to reprocess memories so that you are desensitized and less emotionally vulnerable to those memories. It has been proven effective with PSTD and more studies are showing how it can work to improve many other problems including anxiety, depression, and addiction.
Dungeons and Dragons is a game that requires collaboration and cooperation as well as exploring an alternate reality in a character that isn't really us - but at the same time encompasses parts of ourselves. I believe that we can work together to address problems that we hide from or endure in our day to day lives, through group therapy utilizing role play in a game setting.
