Crow & Bulman Engineering was the mechanical engineer on a total of 12 certified LEED buildings and 3 Green Globes certified buildings. 1st Place Technology Award for Institutional Buildings, Southeast Region, 2001, for Anderson Mill's geothermal HVAC system. 1st Place Award for Small Business (2018), recognizing engieering innovation and sponsoring community involvement.
Crow & Bulman Engineering has always had a keen eye for conceptual changes when the science was solid, always avoiding fashion changes, but always adopting sound, low risk engineering concepts. First firm in South Carolina to design a K-12 school with variable flow chilled water hydronics; resulting in substantial energy savings.
Crow & Bulman Engineering was advocating sustainable principles before there was a Green Building Council (see INNOVATION tab). Our knowledge of energy dynamics, from source to use, has always been a major factor in our designs. After completing design on the first commercial LEED office building in South Carolina in 2003, many more LEED projects have followed.
