The Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home is the oldest operating funeral business in Miami County, having done business since 1926. Visit our now modern facility which includes a 120 seat chapel, 85 seat family room, and showroom featuring high quality caskets, vaults, urns and modern monuments. You may also wish to use our advance planning service.

In today's times, more and more Americans are doing basic estate planning. Many people consider advance funeral planning as part of estate planning. While advance planning may not work for everyone, the number of people doing so has increased in recent years. We would be happy to assist you with planning that will give you and your family time to make decisions that will satisfy both you and your family.
Services
At Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home we offer a variety of services to fit the needs of each and every family. The following is a brief summary of some of the options we offer. This option includes the removal of remains, basic services of staff, necessary authorizations, in state and/or visitation, funeral ceremony at our facility or in a church chosen by the family, transportation to the cemetery, and committal service at graveside.
Staff members of Eddy Birchard Funeral Home are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff of licensed funeral directors. Joe began his professional career in the funeral industry in 1966 at Frye Funeral Home in Olathe.
Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home is located at 203 Main Street in Osawatomie, Kansas. We have seating for 120 in our chapel plus seating for 85 in the family room and an aditional seating area for 50 if needed. The spacious chapel allows ample room to display flowers. A cozy room off the chapel offers family and friends a nice place to visit.
Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
Many who have undergone the emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan their own funeral. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of grief and emotional stress. Funeral arrangements are a deeply personal choice.

What Emily and Loren provided was above and beyond any type of care I have experienced in laying a loved one to rest. Emily was a friend. We couldn't have made it through this without them! Thank you!
