Pioneer Veterinary Hospital was established in 1985 by Dr. Peter Miller and Dr. Daniel Cameron. Dr. Tracy Solis has worked at Pioneer since 2014 after graduating from Washington State University. In early 2019, Dr. Solis became the proud new owner of the veterinary practice and has been serving the community here in Tillamook since.

Services
Preventive care is one of the most important parts of your pet's overall health. With regular wellness exams, routine testing and vaccinations, we can help prevent illnesses entirely or catch life-threatening conditions before they advance to a more serious stage. We offer comprehensive wellness care for all types of pets, including cats, dogs, rabbits, pocket pets, avians and exotic pets.
As much as we try to avoid them, accidents can and do happen. Pioneer Veterinary Hospital accepts emergency cases for cats, dogs, rabbits, pocket pets, avians and exotic pets Monday through Saturday 8am to 8pm. Our experienced veterinarians and veterinary care team are here to help when you need it most, serving the pet owning community in Tillamook for over 30 years.
Dental exams are an important part of your pet's overall health care. You might have noticed one of the most common first signs of periodontal disease already: bad breath. Plaque and tartar buildup is caused by bacteria that cling to your pet's teeth, forming a layer that hardens and begins to move under the gums to cause painful gingivitis.
We know just how important spaying and neutering pets can be here in Tillamook. Pet overpopulation, especially for cats and dogs, can lead to crowded shelters and too few loving homes for our furry friends. Pioneer Veterinary Hospital offers affordable spay and neuter procedures for cats and dogs in our clinic.
The skilled veterinarians here at Pioneer Veterinary Hospital can provide a wide range of surgical services for cats and dogs. From a simple spay or neuter to a complex orthopedic procedure, we're here to make sure your pet lives a healthy and happy life by your side. We perform both planned quality-of-life improving surgeries as well as emergency procedures to save the life of a pet due to an injury or illness.

We waited a long 12 hours for our pet to be seen as an urgent patient. But are very greatful for the help they provided.
She was treated for an infection that she showed many signs for. Even tho her tests came back negative. And After 36 hours of care, we took her home for supportive care. Days later, and weight loss aside, shes about back to her normal self! Just a heads up for anyone who may go in. They do require a 75% downpayment for your animals care, (that begins as soon as they intake them) and they work with a couple credit companies one can apply for to help with payments before you leave

The Pioneer Vet hospital staff is amazing. The receptionists are always very kind and helpful. The technicians are excellent with the animals and listen. The veterinarians are stellar, especially Dr. Mark Witt. He is knowledgeable, professional, compassionate, down to earth and allows us an interactive role in care decisions. He is able to sort out our concerns, make a diagnosis and offer treatment options. We absolutely trust them with our large breed dog Zumi. Highly recommend!

A couple days ago, my kitten was attacked by a dog, and needed urgent medical care. Your staff at Pioneer fit him into the already full schedule, and kept in constant contact with me. Sadly, he was too badly hurt, and we put him down. It was a heart wrenching experience, but they walked us through it with such kindness. Dr. Witt was lovely, and our tech Lindsey cried along with us as we said our goodbyes to our sweet boy Phineas. My daughters and I are truly grateful for those moments, and we will always remember your compassion on what was an awful day.

Just wow. My pup has terrible anxiety and they were beyond patient. Went above and beyond to make everything as comfortable for him as possible (had a split dew claw nail). They genuinely care about the animals they're caring for.
