Okaw Veterinary Clinic is a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, behavioral, surgical, dental and integrative medicine. We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required.
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We also stress the use of Low Stress Handling to keep your pet's visit as stress free as we can. Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.
The Okaw Vet Clinic staff has completed the certification program in low stress handling for veterinary practice. What does this mean? This is a multi lecture, demonstration and self test course of 16 teaching hours, that each technician completed and passed. This course greatly enhanced our knowledge in the most kind and least upsetting techniques of holding, treating, and approaching dogs and cats.
I grew up in a small town and have had pets my entire life. We have always had at least one dog and outdoor cats. We live on a farm, so I also grew up around horses, donkeys, cows, pigs, chickens and a goat. I decided to work in a biology related field when I was in high school and started my general studies at Lake Land College, where I received my Associate in Applied Sciences.
Odie and I arrived in time for his appointment. The little guy was excited to see the treats but that excitement disappeared when he saw the stainless steel table in the examining room. Okaw Vet Clinic does their best to make our pet kids happy. The tech sprayed a kerchief with a scent that calms them and then tied it around his little neck.

We were in town visiting family. We needed a health certificate in order to travel overseas. We did a last minute walk in at the Okaw Clinic and Dr. Kuhns and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They gave us a health certificate the very next day and the cost was very low. We are very grateful for the excellent service we received at this clinic and can highly recommend Dr. Kuhns and staff!

Okaw is the best vet I've ever visited. The staff is so great. And the extent they go to to put your pet's comfort first is amazing. It was so efficient...the doctor was very thorough with my Kitty's check up, all while educating me, answering questions, and giving Kitty treats and great care. I was in and out but learned so much, and got everything checked and answered. I get regular emails and mail correspondence from them now as well. And of course the clinic pets are cute.
