Our preschool began over 30 years ago in the Spring of 1982 as a Mother's Day Out program at Yale Avenue Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). This one day per week program, initially 9-2:30 on Friday, was a big help to stay-at-home moms who just needed a break from the kids! However, the idea caught on quickly and in the Autumn of that same year, a second day, Tuesday, was added.
Through the ensuing decades, the program continued to expand to five days. The service hours were expanded to 7:30a-5:30p for accommodation of working families. In October of 2002, the preschool was approved as a licensed two star preschool under the auspices of the Oklahoma Department of Human services.

Services
A tour of our preschool will answer questions and concerns. Play and Learn Preschool is a full-time Christian early learning Center operating year round except on designated dates when the preschool is closed. Play and Learn Preschool Inc., admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the preschool.
We keep an eye on the weather for the safety and protection of children, staff and families. Safety: Your child's safety is always our first concern and sometimes that means closing the facilities due to dangerous weather conditions. It is our goal to be open, however, if weather changes create dangerous conditions, the preschool will close or be cancelled until weather conditions are again safe for parents and children.
Yes, you can. We encourage you to take a tour so that you may determine whether our preschool meets your needs and you feel comfortable enrolling your child(ren) in our program. Parents are welcome to visit at any time without notice. We encourage parents and family members to visit and share in the activities of the children.
Funding for the operation of the preschool is supported through donations and enrollment tuition. At Play and Learn, we recognize that working families need a safe, caring environment where their children can learn the life skills of heart and mind. Excellence in care is essential because children grow and develop quickly.
