The Staircase is one of the home's focal points, a piece of hand-crafted art that makes a personal statement, converting and upgrading simplistic or outdated staircase into a beautiful, ornate wood staircase banisters or refinishing your existing beautiful wood staircase will make a huge difference in your home.
Buffing or screening a hardwood floor is similar to refinishing wood trim on a house. Buffing involves lightly sanding the old finish and then applying a new layer of finish. Buffing will not remove the stain or color from hardwood floors, it simply removes the top layers of protective coating. There are several reasons to consider buffing a floor that is beginning to show wear and tear over refinishing it.
The common ones are Oak, Walnut (American, Brazilian & African) Canadian Maple, Cherry (American & Brazilian) and Bamboo floors which have become very popular over the last 10 years. Unfinished wood floors will need to be stained and finished after installation. This type of installation eliminates the shim micro line of separation between boards that a pre-finished wood floor has.
We called Izzy for help sanding and refinishing 100 year-old floors in our craftsman. They were in so-so shape, a few bald patches and deep scratches, and needed some overall love. We got three bids and ultimately went with Izzy because he was the most knowledgeable of the three, the first second he stepped foot in the house.
