Grasso's Italian Restaurant opened in 1955 in El Centro California and is located 1902 West Main Street. There have only been 2 Families that have owned Grasso's and it is still located in the original building. For over 66 years, only 2 families have owned Grasso's. Two sisters, Giacinta Grasso and Blanche Fornasero started serving family and friends in Giacintas home.
It became so popular that they turned "The Dining Room" into the restaurant in 1955. A couple years later they added "The Family Room" and Grasso's became a full time restaurant. Ed and Mary Baran, along with their children, Hank and Liz, bought the restaurant in 1976 from Blanche and Joe Fornasero.

I was in the area for a week for work and was hopeful for a locally owned Italian restaurant. I read the reviews and decided to choose Grasso's. I ordered the lasagna and a salad to go. When I opened up the lasagna in the hotel room I was so disappointed. The cheese was burned and there was no tomato sauce. None! Not sure how lasagna can be lasagna without tomato sauce. I was starving and ate it reluctantly. Not impressed at all. The salad was okay. Not sure I could recommend this place unless they improve one of the most basic and standard Italian dishes.

Had an amazing time. It was my son's 13th birthday and he chose Grassos as his restaurant to throw his party. We arrived with a cheesecake and they quickly asked if we would like for them to place it in their fridge. They kindly did. The food was amazing. The service was on point. My table of 11 people was super pleased with service and food. The atmosphere was perfect. I will definitely go back soon. I highly recommend Grossos to everyone! A+++

Pizza small but good!! Sausage was literally tough as shoe leather,, the casings were thick and chewy,, had to scrape the meat out , then the meat was tough,, I complained to waitress and she said that’s how they are supposed to be ,, never in my life ate sausage ,,boiled not browned at all ,, really bummed,, I’m gluten free, ordered steamed vegetables, came out halfway after pizza and sausage were out! ☹️very $$$$

Great food, excellent service... I remember a kind waitress carrying me back to the kitchen and given a bread stick because I was being fussy..likely a late night..I couldnt have been more than 2 years old. This door brings back memories over 50 years old. We will always come back to Grasso's when ever in the area.
