Collin and Shelter did my solar installation. They did good work and started and finished ahead of the original schedule. They handled everything, including the city and the utility company. Collin was very responsive. i had a lot of questions, and he was quick to respond. Highly recommend.

We loved working with Shelter Roofing and would definitely recommended them to anyone looking to get their roof done. Our insurance covered a new roof, and Shelter Roofing worked with our insurance company to make the experience virtually painless. They were ahead of schedule, a cleaned up throughly every day. In terms of price, they were comparable to the other bids we received, but regarding service, I anticipate they were far superior to any service we would have received from the other companies. A roof is a large purchase, and we definitely made the right decision going with Shelter Roofing

Wanted to do a quick update after more than a year. Solar is producing great despite the shading. My power bills average to basically nothing over the year (though there's some small charges you still need to pay even if your usage is negative), down from 5k per year. I produced 16MWh in 2020 (with all the shading). No roof leaks, no issues with the solar. The SolarEdge hub disconnected for a few days once, but once I rebooted, all the data was available, no data was lost.
The brown drips from the roof still happen due to condensation in the cooler months. It's

Unfortunately the quoting process didn't go well. I corresponded with them several times and spoke with them by phone, then silence. To this day there has been no follow up. I had mentioned that my roof was damaged by high wind and was no longer rain-proof so timing was critical.
As a result I ended up going with another company and missed out on the county permit process. The county is closed for a week between Christmas and New Years. Now the job is 2 weeks late with another rain event on the way!
If they were too busy or didn't want the job, I would've appreciated a reply stating

I had Shelter Roofing do a roof "tune-up" on a portion of my roof as preventative maintenance. Everything looked good when they left my property, but as soon as the Simi winds came, my wife and I noticed that debris was being blown into our house from our skylight. This had never happened before, and only occurred after the "tune-up".
I contacted Geoff of Shelter Roofing via email and phone, and also left a message at their home office. No one contacted me until the following day. Geoff said he would send someone by to take a look.

I can't recommend Shelter enough. The roof on the fixer-upper we bought hadn't been touched in 32 years so we had an opportunity to build a solar system that was embedded into the tile. When I brought the idea up to Shelter, they were all for it and frankly, probably the only company in the area that could have pulled this off. One of the big reasons I went with them was because they had both the solar and roofing in-house.

Very pleased with our solar and roof install. Chris spent a lot of time providing us with lots of good information which helped us to decide on our purchase. We appreciated the education. He helped make this happen for us before the end of 2019 to make sure we qualified for the full rebate, which was very much appreciated. Scott was amazing. Unfortunately running into many hiccups. It is quite frustrated. sometime I think the good Lord try to torture me.
however each time Scott responded and perform what necessary to be done as quickly as possible.
I highly recommend Shelterroofing if you need your roof rebuilt please must ask for Scott the owner of the company.
in addition office receptionist Catherine always answer my call with courtesy and notify Scott in timely matter.
also one of his employee

These are good people. I was able to text Chris with questions leading up to the job, and the job was done well and at a fair price.

Per the company's outgoing voicemail: This company no longer performs repairs.... only wholesale roof replacements and solar installation. So if you, like me, simply have a leak in your roof that needs assessing, you might want to look elsewhere.
Their website, however, offers no such disclaimer. It would be nice if the company saved its potential customers time by making that clear on the website.
Bummer.
