Come and enjoy a wonderful family dining experience at The Launching Pad. We are located across from the airport in beautiful Shawano, Wisconsin. Enjoy indoor and outdoor dining in a friendly atmosphere with excellent bar and food selections. We offer daily dining specials! For many years, The Launching Pad has been serving locals and tourists with our fresh food.
Our famous hamburgers are ground fresh daily and we patty them in-house. We use only the freshest produce and toppings from our local grocers. The Duke burger, named after our original founder, is a juicy 1 1/3 pound hand padded burger cooked to your liking. It comes with a bun that we have specially prepared by a local bakery and ready for you to load up with your choice of toppings.

Services
The Launching Pad opened over 35 years ago here on Airport Road in Shawano, Wisconsin. It has always been a popular spot among locals and our friends from surrounding states that travel to visit Shawano. Over time one of our most famous menu items is the "The Duke Burger, " which is named after the founder of The Launching Pad.
It's another great Saturday here at The Launching Pad! If your looking for something to do today stop in and hang out with us as we celebrate the holiday weekend. We have Red White and Blue panty droppers all day long and a boneless chicken wing basket served with amazingly good waffle fries and a choice of sauce.

Typical bar food and high top tables. It was clean, but run down, needed some updates. It was during the summer of Covid, so the menu was VERY limited, we really wanted AYCE fish fry, but low staff ( only one cook and one bartender) they didn't offer it. There was alot of places that were closed due to staffing issues. It was our 32nd anniversary weekend, ❤ our supper club dreams were dashed because of staffing issues. The burger was pre-made frozen patty, nothing homemade. The poor man's lobster was just that, fries were hot and crispy.

I wouldn’t say it was an impressive experience. They did have a sign that said they were short staffed, so we knew it would be a bit longer—but not almost 2 hours long. There were 3-4 other parties besides us. All of the people in our party ordered burgers with chips. A dry burger and a small handful of original potato chips for $11?! Man.
My mushroom and Swiss was the driest M&S burger I’ve ever had, even with ketchup. It was kind of a disappointment because a lot of other friends had suggested this place.
I’m not sure we’ll ever re-visit. But reading other recent reviews there seems

We used to love this place but unfortunately I don’t think we’ll be back anytime soon. The restaurant only had a handful of parties dining for lunch yet our service was horribly inattentive and slow. Especially for the two people in our group who ordered the daily special of all you can eat spaghetti and had to go up to the bar to order more since no one ever came and asked if they’d like refills. Then when our bill finally came, we were charged over $11 for a grilled cheese and fries with an extra charge for cheddar. The only grilled cheese on the menu was listed under “lighter fare”

Yikes. This place easily had the worst service of anywhere I have been in a number of years. We went on a Monday for lunch, when there was only a single other table in the entire place occupied, yet it took over an hour for our food to come, and the waiter only visited our table twice: to take our drink and food order, then to drop off the terrible, overpriced food, but never again after that. Two of us got the Monday special, all-you-can-eat spaghetti and garlic bread. Kind of hard to order more when he never revisits the table, so we had to go up to the bar and ask for more bread. He seemed both
