First and foremost, welcome to Wake Forest Mind and Health, PLLC. Taking the first step towards working with a therapist can be scary for anyone. However, as a clinician, I believe that fear and courage are two sides of the same coin. In order for us to appreciate courage, we have to appreciate fear as well and face it head on.
Together, we will do just that, looking at areas of your life where you feel stuck or lost and approach it in a way that feels safe and manageable. And today you are one step closer to a new you where you feel empowered and on a positive path to growth and well-being. In my practice I work with clients to achieve a greater sense of awareness, empowerment, and develop better solutions and strategies to resolve their issues and problems.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a short-term, problem-focused form of psychotherapy that helps individuals see the difference between thoughts, beliefs, attitudes, and feelings and to work to help the individual free themselves from unhelpful patterns of behavior in order to create more peace and contentment in their life.
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), is designed for people who suffer from repeated bouts of depression or chronic unhappiness. It combines the ideas of cognitive therapy with meditative practices and attitudes based on the cultivation of mindfulness. The practice of MBCT compliments quite well Cognitive Behavioral Therapy page (CBT) as described on the Services page of this website.
I feel guilty for just wanting to practice self-care and have some alone time away from the demands of loved ones and others. My life and the world around me are dark which I can't stand but believe I can't change it. If you have had any form of these thoughts and don't feel like your usual self, chances are you may be suffering from depression.
