In a world where prescription medications and surgery are too often the first options offered to patients, many are instead seeking "alternative methods" shown to work effectively with minimal to no side effects. S.P.A.R.C. Chiropractic uses Chiropractic Manipulation Therapy (CMT), or "the adjustment, " to help assist with our other natural treatment protocols to restore, preserve and optimize patient health.
Massage therapy is one of the adjunct treatments we provide to help patients attain wellness and improve their health. Research shows that massage benefits include, but are not limited to: healing injuries, recovery from exercise, and reducing stress, pain, muscle tension, anxiety and headaches. We offer a variety of massage therapy services for our valued patients.
While many massage techniques induce relaxation with soothing and gentle kneading, deep tissue massage involves more intense muscle manipulation. Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. Additionally, this type of massage reduces stress hormone levels and heart rate while boosting mood and relaxation by triggering the release of oxytocin and serotonin.
Attending to the unique needs of expectant mothers is the goal of every prenatal massage. Certified prenatal massage therapists are specially trained to tailor their massage techniques to help alleviate common pregnancy complaints and to protect both mother and child during the massage. Not only am I the Office Manager at SPARC but I am also a patient. With a surprising diagnosis of Stage 1 Breast Cancer just MONTHS after starting my new job, Dr. Tom has been with me from the beginning. Caring for me mind, body and soul. I had a spinal fusion surgery (two 14” metal rods drilled into my spine) in 2008 and was scared I was unable to get help for the crick in my neck.
Do not let that keep you from going, my neck and shoulders are much more relaxed. And the “homework” or stretches at home are a manageable routine. The doctor (Kinsella) is gentle, polite and very knowledgeable. He is willing to work with you to solve your issue and genuinely care that you’re getting better.

We were thrilled to find Dr. Tom and the good folks at S.P.A.R.C. Chiropractic. We'd left a chiropractor that we loved in Chicago when we moved out here and were afraid we wouldn't find anyone as good. Dr. Tom has been invaluable in saving my neck and back. As a law student I spent too many hours with my head bent over books, and my neck and shoulders paid the price. I see Dr. Tom for acupuncture, adjustments, and light tissue massages. I always walk out feeling like I've awoken from a deep sleep, and then get the best night's sleep that night! I saw the SPARC tent at a charity event this weekend in Naperville. I stopped to talk to the professionals about a nagging pain in my hip. I decided to make an appointment and having been to a few chiropractors about it I was really hoping the doctors at SPARC could help me out. I dropped into Sparc while visiting home for a couple of days to have acupuncture treatment. My boyfriend had an adjustment on his hip as well. We were very happy with the treatment we received and the staff was so attentive to our needs and very professional. I have seen other Chiropractors where I feel rushed out without any true explanation of what the problem is Dr. Mike and Dr. Tom really take the time to make you feel at ease with what the process is and how to correct it.

Dr Mike and Dr Tom are outstanding and really care about getting you back to 100%. They offer services from massage therapy, movement screens, to strength building weak areas.
I had some issues with my hips and right shoulder and after treatment have seen big gains in my crossfit workouts. If you are an athlete or in front of a computer I highly recommend.
