Services
In June of 2011, we opened up as a unique coffeehouse, but around the end of our first year we wanted to offer more to the community of Carlsbad, so we transitioned into the full service restaurant we are today. Our architecturally beautiful and historic yellow-brick house was completed in 1928 by Mr. Albert Hendricks, a clothier who owned a retail store on Canyon Street.
At YellowBrix Restaurant in Carlsbad, NM we believe in providing an exceptional dining experience and unbelievable food. We offer an extensive selection of lunch, dinner, and kid's items made from scratch every day, that are sure to satisfy any appetite. We're dishing up homemade favorites from Tapas, Soups, and Salads to Sandwiches, Burgers, and Wraps that you simply can't pass up.

Food and service were great! Our waitress was Holly and she was working her tail off! My wife ordered the 10-oz Filet medium-well (I know, I know, but you try to tell her) with Mashed Potatoes and Chicken Tortilla soup. I ordered the 18-oz T-bone medium rare with Baked Penne and Caesar Salad. Both steaks arrived and mine was cooked medium-well and hers was cooked medium-rare, they got them mixed up! They ended up cooking her steak well done (that's why I always tell her to order her steak medium) but they did remove it from the ticket. They made me a whole new steak (pictured) which was perfect

Ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with green chile, accompanied by seared tuna. The tuna was good, the green chile not quite spicy enough for my taste, and the fettuccine was fine, if you like your pasta served in enough sauce to be called a cream soup. I should have gone with my instinct to say, “go light on the sauce,” had I done that, I’m sure it would have been more suited to my preference. I also ordered a cup of the green chile pozole. This was a standout, so good that we had to go back a second night, just so I could get a bowl of it for takeout. The spice was right, the meat perfectly

There was no disappointment in the experience we had here at Yellow Brix. We came in the middle of the afternoon, so there was barely a crowd. The menu is limited, but I think that's what helps them stand out. When it's small it means they can concentrate and make what they do have very delicious. Food is fresh and made in house from the mash potatoes to the calamari that was cooked with vegetables. Don't let the price persuade you away, you get your money's worth. My wife had the NY Strip, I had the Chicken Cordon Bleu, and for dessert NY Cheesecake with a side of strawberry sauce..

I brought my family here on our family vacation after reading the overwhelming good reviews. I was expecting a pleasant evening of dinning. What I got was any thing but. The greeter looked panicked when we showed up and requested seating in side. We were hoping for AC after a long day of hiking and swimming. We were told that there would only be seating for us out side on the patio. We were seated in a corner next to a bug zapper that was not plugged in but Mitch needed as we were quickly swarmed with flys that persisted to make our dinning troublesome. So we decided to stop here on our way back from Carlsbad Caverns we wanted to make sure we had a delicious meal before we made our way to San Antonio Texas.Let me tell you this place is absolutely amazing. We made reservations and dined in for dinner on a Wednesday evening. Was seated in the front dining room near a corner window that was unfortunately and unappetizingly full of flies that we spent the entire dinner swatting away from our plates and glasses... 🤢 We almost left over that, but it would have been a hassle to find another restaurant at 6pm. It totally ruined the vibe though. That said, our waitress was prompt and pleasant and the food was above my expectations. We had the spinach and artichoke dip for an appetizer and it did not disappoint. It was a larger portion of dip than most
