Wednesdays, we have partnered with White Claw Hard Seltzer to bring you weekly themed concerts: Tribute, Country, Rock 'n Roll and Decades 60's-2000's. Thursdays, we are featuring great acts from all genres, many from the Blonde Entertainment repertoire. Saturdays, we are featuring all day entertainment starting at 1:00 with acoustic during the day and heavy hitters at night.

Sundays are now the Dog Days of Summer sponsored by Spaten! Trip includes airfare, hotel, brewery hospitality AND $500 in spending cash. With so much going on in The Biergarten, sometimes it is easy to forget The Rathskeller is one of the best restaurants in the city as well! Award winning German food, hand cut steaks, chicken, seafood, pork and pasta dishes delight in killer old world ambiance!
Services
A sampling of Bratwurst, Bockwurst, Kielbasse and German Wieners served with our homemade sauerkraut and red cabbage. Served with German mustards for dipping. A chance to try our tasty deep fried appetizers on one platter! 3 chicken cordon bleu fingers, 3 cajun chicken poppers, 4 brat 'n kraut balls, and 2 jalapeo corn bread hush puppies served with an array of sauces.
Layers of chocolate ice cream, pecan praline ice cream and crumbled Snicker's bars atop an Oreo crust. Topped off with sliced almonds, caramel and chocolate sauces. A warm slice of bread pudding made with real raspberries and white chocolate, served in a pool of vanilla sauce and topped with our homemade raspberry sauce.
The Willkie Blue Room, located on the first floor of the Athenaeum Building, is the perfect location for your rehearsal dinner or private dinner meeting. Decorative hutches housing historic pictures and artifacts line the wood paneled walls, while dimmed lights set the mood. This quaint room has been used for many years for family reunions, board meetings, graduation parties, and rehearsal dinners.
One of our most quaint rooms, the Vonnegut Room is accessible through our main dining room. The room is named for Bernard Vonnegut, one of the building architects and grandfather of author Kurt Vonnegut, whose bust decorates the back wall of the room. The room boasts an ornate fireplace, stained glass windows and beautiful wainscotting.
Located behind the building is a beautiful outdoor Biergarten, perfect for summer events. The Biergarten will seat 500 people and is best used for informal or social gatherings. The Biergarten includes 2 bar "huts, " 2 dance areas, and a large band-shell, perfect for live entertainment. Due to the Rathskeller's live entertainment, the Biergarten is only available for event rental on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Really delicious meal out. This was a group dining experience and the staff was so pleasant and professional. A beautiful old building with an extreme amount of character inside. We were in a private room with white tablecloths and large windows. Everyone in the group was extremely satisfied with the meal and the service. A large menu with the concentration on German dishes. I enjoyed the Chicken Diane but I loved the onion soup. We have traveled far and wide to find a wonderful example of onion soup. This place was one of the best we have had. Large clean restrooms. You pay a meter to eat here

The food is pretty good and the building is beautiful, but neither of these things are worth the overwhelming feeling that you will 100% contract Covid in this business. Only one staff member was masked, there were rowdy patrons everywhere with no sense of personal space... I could go on. But the real reason we left so quickly was the unmasked bartender who was not only surly, but was also sweating and coughing EVERYWHERE.

Listen, I get that we accept some risk by choosing to eat out, but this place was legitimately disgusting. I will never be back.

So eine Entäuschung! Customer service was good and the atmosphere was fine but the food was lacking flavor. We weren't expecting authentic German, but the schnitzel and potato pancake had no flavor, while the Spätzle was pasty and also tasteless. The mustard for the pretzels was good if you like horseradish and heat, and the chicken pot pie soup was the most flavorful item. The servings were very generous but the food was not worth the calories or the price. We'll cross this off the bucket list with no need to return.

Outstanding food and absolutely over the top service. I regret that I did not get the name of our server, but she was quite knowledgeable of both the food and the extensive selection of beers. After a few questions, she was able to recommend several beers that my wife and I greatly enjoyed. The beer flights are a very generous 6 oz pours.

Tried this place out while in town for the National Championship. Go Dawgs! A friend with us recommended it. I had the Sauerbraten with creamed spinach and the Spaetzle noodles. The meat was much too sweet for me. I could not eat it. The super nice gentleman took it off my bill which is incredible customer service. We also had the Hot Wurst Platte. 3 different sausages with both types of sauerkraut and all good. The red one is sweet. Free apple strudel for dessert for my hubby's bday. Delicious and flaky.

Delightful dining experience from start to finish! I was able to get our party of 9 a same day reservation on a Wednesday. The inside was still decorated for Christmas which added to the wonderful ambiance.
They have a decent bourbon selection which made my husband and brother in law happy.
They give you complimentary hot soft pretzels which was a wonderful surprise! We also started with the bratwurst sampler, pesto French bread and stuffed mushrooms. All were fabulous.

Everyone seemed very happy with their meals. I got the schnitzel with creamed spinach and spaetzle noodles. What a delight!!

Great gathering place with a history of good times and great food and music. If you are in the neighborhood or downtown for a show at the Murat, stop in before and after. Great service awaits. It's a must try if you've never been. Also, biggest Guinness pours I've ever seen. Yummo. Be sure to check out the menu from start to finish. The desserts were turning heads. I'm more of an appetizer person but definitely noticed. Lucky spot for those living nearby. Enjoy...

It's an incredible German beer hall experience! They have an extensive list of German beers as well as others and a menu full of German style food. The German beer hall Style bar is impressive as is there open venues for parties and reception style events. I had their jagerschnitzel as my main meal and a chicken cordon bleu appetizer that was to die for. Try their pretzels with their signature horseradish sauce. It will open your nasal passages, your eyes and endear you to the place. Definitely will come back here again many times!

My fiancé, myself and his family all enjoy The Rathskeller- the food, beer and beautiful historic building. What we didn't like- the server.
I have worked in the service industry for many years and I understand being in the weeds. But Jen, our server, seemed to go out of her way to be rude. We took my fiancés grandmother, who is sometimes hard of hearing, and Jen was quite short and seemed irritated when asked to repeat the salad dressing options. Not to mention she slammed down all of our drinks, put her pointed finger in front of my future sister-in-law while referring to her wine glass

Already ate some of the yellow fish tuna with beans and rice so this isn't a full plate! But I've never had anything like this before and WOW can I say flavorful, the only way I found this out cause Wayne recommended it and I'm thankful he did!

Always a good time when I visit here. This year, we went with a group of people and were put in the events room. Our waiter was great. Unfortunately, they ran out of rouladen which is the only thing I wanted (pregnancy) but they had half portion. They didn't charge me dinner, only lunch, but still made fresh rouladen and gave it to me to go.

The pretzels are a must have. And the spicy horseradish is to die for. Definitely order that as an appetizer.

If you want a really unique place with great food and beer, go here.

We had the best experience at dinner tonight here. The appetizers were awesome. Loved the stuffed mushrooms and chicken cordon Bleu fingers. The schnitzel was spectacular. Our waitress Jane was the absolute best waitress I've ever had. She took care of us above and beyond without being intrusive one bit. She was super awesome, nice, and incredible competent.

I stopped at the Rathskeller for a birthday dinner with a dear old friend(s). I ordered a draft Rathskeller amber 16 oz. beer to drink which was delicious. We had pretzels as appetizers which were just classic German and good. My entree was the schnitzel with potato soup, carrots, and mashed sweet potatoes. The meal was pretty good. Our waitress was super attentive, patient, friendly and accommodating. They have plenty of seating and a full bar. The restrooms were clean. They also offer free live music and a beer garden (tho it was too cold for that). I've visited here many times and it&apos

We dined in the Kellerbar portion of the restaurant on a Wednesday night. Everything from the food to the service was spectacular, not to mention the cool vibe the space has.
Our meal began with a soft pretzel as we looked over the menu. We ordered an appetizer as well as our meals. Shortly thereafter, our server came to the table with our salads and let us know the kitchen was a bit backed up; this was not a problem, as we were taking the time to enjoy the evening, but we appreciated that the server made the effort to set that expectation of service time.
We decided to order the chicken cordon

First visit to this iconic Indy spot. The place is huge and I was told they had outside concerts in their backyard.

We had a large group this evening. We shared the Brat 'n Kraut balls (ok) and the Hot Wurst Plate - this was pretty good but watch out for the spicy mustard, it will clear your nostrils!

I had the Rouladen. It was a huge plate of food yet it was moderate quality and not especially flavorful. For sides I chose the German Potato salad (interesting and had some good flavors) and the spaetzle noodles (simply dumplings and not much taste save for the gravy they were topped with

We love German food, and Rathskeller did not disappoint. The flavors delight the taste buds, from the tangy mustard with the pretzel to the potato salad. The Rathskeller sauerkraut was the only surprise - the best I have ever had, and wow was it awesome with the variety of sausage meats.

My wife and I had lunch here on Sunday. This was a great restaurant at one time but it's showing its age.

Upon entering the restaurant (which is in the basement of the Athaneum), we were given a choice of sitting in the main restaurant (which seemed dark and old) or in the KellerBar (which seemed bright and airy). We chose the KellerBar.

My wife and I both ordered the Schnitzel (which is pork not veal). She had sauerkraut and German potato salad with hers, I opted for the spaetzle.

We thought the Schnitzel was good but not the best we've ever had. It's served with lemon juice

Last night we venture out to The Rathskeller! I've been here a couple times in a drunken stumble and only spent time in the beer garden! Tonight we decided to have dinner and drinks. If you've ever been here you are immediately blown away at how big the building is and how many things are going on in each area. We sat in front of the venue hall for dinner where we got to watch a concert. The food was excellent! I had the schnitzel parmesan along with some of their wild rice which was full of flavor. Our server Alyssa was witty, fun and full of good conversation. We enjoyed dining there

YUMMY GERMAN FOOD & BEER
==========================

We met my son and his girlfriend at The Rathskeller for lunch on the way to the Indy Int'l Airport.

If you are trying to avoid carbs turn and run the other way because you will veer off your path of avoiding carbs with their warm pretzels.

My son ordered one of their German specialties and he loved that. I can't remember what my husband ordered, but he like that. I was in hog heaven with a big bowl of their French onion soup. It paired perfectly with one of their beers on tap and their fresh pretzel. The pretzel was so good

Since we moved to Indy I've heard that we need to check out The Rathskeller. We are a mainly on a keto diet so going out to eat and finding something for us can be hard. Well, the hot wurst plate for 2 (an appetizer) was a perfect dinner for 2! This was a great price and more than enough food. The sausages were amazing, the mustards were amazing, and the cabbages were amazing! We ordered takeout and everything was ready. Be cautious though that there is a lot of liquid in this take out - I walked home and had some spillage of the red cabbage.

I loved the inside of this place and will have

This is the classic anchor of Mass Ave. The space is huge and the menu has been the same for as long as I can remember. Street parking is always available nearby because of the location.

The meat is sourced from Claus Meat Market (formerly known as Klemm's) which is exactly where I buy the same stuff when I make my own at home.

I always look at everything on the menu but I don't think there has ever been a time when I haven't settled on the Wurst Platte. It's the perfect German dish. They pair it with a selection of exceptional German beers. Many of the breweries are familiar
