Hanshi Cullen's Goju Lineage: Training with Hanshi Cullen places you with an instructor who is only TWO instructors away from Goju's founder Chojun Miyagi. The Academy of Martial Arts Studies is the Hombu dojo of Hanshi Kevin Cullen. The ONLY instructor in the world teaching the renowned 5 Hands Systems the SOFT KUNG FU aspect of his Ateru Goju Ryu Karate Jutsu (AGKJ).
Enjoy your family and your freedom! When this happens, it's usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it or it's been deleted. The Academy exists under the leadership of Hanshi Kevin "Huunjin" Cullen. Mr. Cullen has dedicated his life to the study and instruction of traditional Japanese fighting arts and has been involved in the Goju Karate since 1973.
Our Tiny Tigers program is a detailed curriculum that focuses on improving pre- school age children's basic motor, listening and socialization skills. We believe that the time between the ages of 3 and 6 are the most important years of a child's development. Our program will enhance positive development in a fun and motivating way.
While other karate schools in the area are sports based (tag style point fighting), our style of Goju karate (in close combat based) is THE PERFECT DETERRENT to BULLY'S as it offers no-fluff or flashy techniques, only ones that can protect and preserve your child when in danger. Our kids are our future leaders and our goal is to make them champions in life.
WE NOW OFFER BEGINNER ADULT CLASSES AND ADVANCED ADULT CLASSES taught on a traditional wood floor in traditional Okinawan/Japanese ways. Learn Ateru Goju-Ryu Karate Jutsu from its creator, Hanshi Cullen. He has trained national and international winners in Kata and Kumite and has had his full contact fighters compete in the UFC, in Japan and many other countries.
