The Perkins County Veterinary Hospital is a companion animal hospital located in southwest Nebraska. The hospital was opened in 2000 by Shannon Jensen, DVM. Services
Our mission is to provide pets with excellent medical care to increase their quality of life and give owners a peace of mind. We are here for all of your pet's needs. Can't thank Dr. Jensen enough! Our 7 week old puppy was scratched in the eye by a cat and she not only told us to come in right away, but preformed emergency surgery that night.
Jess is a veterinary technician. Jess and her husband moved to Grant from Pennsylvania and since have grown their family. They now have 2 girls. She also has 3 dogs and a horse named Storm. Pictured with her is Torque, the Boxer, and her 2 French Bulldogs, Pearl and Piper. Kayla is currently our receptionist.
At Perkins County Veterinary Hospital, we understand that your canine companion is not just a pet, but that he or she is a beloved, cherished family member. The mutual bond of love and loyalty between you can make a diagnosis of any form of dog cancer very difficult to hear. Our veterinarians and support staff are empathetic, compassionate and trained to focus on both the emotional and medical aspects of dog cancer.
If your dog has suffered a sudden trauma or is experiencing any life threatening symptoms, please call us immediately at: 308-352-2630. There are times when you are certain that your dog has an emergency (ie: hit by a car) and there are times when you are very concerned but not convinced that it is an emergency requiring immediate care.
It is possible to pick up fleas or ticks during most of the year and can thrive in our homes. Dogs and cats are at equal risk for fleas and ticks if they are indoor or outdoor. Your dog is both the home and food source for fleas and ticks. Fleas live in the coat of your dog and also in your dog's bedding.

We brought our blue and yellow macaw, Jessy, in because he had a fungus infection. They treated us so nicely. Me and my Son Josh were so weary and thinking it was gonna be $200 to $230 for both medications and the visit. But they only cost us $45. I recommend them so much. They were so nice and just wonderful. I don't have words to describe how good they were. We went from Lewellen all the way to Grant. And trust me it was worth the drive, I recommend them more then any other.

Dr. Jensen is the best vet you can find. She really cares for your pet. She is very knowledgeable and excellent at trauma. We were bird hunting and our hunting dog got shot by accident and Dr. Jensen took incredible care of our dog checking on him thru the night. The dog is fine now thanks to Dr. Jensen's great work and care.

I had a very sick puppy that I had taken to another vet before I had taken her to Dr. Jensen and the other vet almost killed her. By the time I found Dr. Jensen Heartlie was almost gone and Dr. Jensen and her staff spent a few days nursing her back to health. I will never again take my animals anywhere else. I live an hour away and it's completely worth it. She and her staff are compassionate, caring, know what they are doing and are affordable. What more could you ask for?
