Engineering Design Group
Building in today's regulatory environment is time-consuming and expensive. Issues such as storm water quality, title 24 energy conservation, earthquake engineering, handicap accessibility in combination with topographic, geologic and zoning constraints make permitting projects in California a Herculean task.

At Engineering Design Group, we strive to streamline the engineering process, offering a multi-engineering discipline approach, saving you time and money. Even a relatively simple project, such as a new residential home, requires fully detailed plans and specifications.

Beware!! Overprice, under-qualified and very unimpressive. They WILL keep your retainer even if you don't proceed, so avoid putting money down they will justify it with a single hour visit. $850 for a single 1 hour visit, no joke. They will literally rob you of your retainer and then ignore your emails.
Unfortunately I hired Erin from Design Group which required a retainer of $850 to come have a consultation. Yup you read that right. Just to get them to come out, you have to put down a retainer for the job. Well didn't seem that bad at first since I was going to use them anyways. However

I had a great experience with this company. They got back to me quickly and were very professional. I had an "unsolvable" problem before I went to them, that would result in my home possibly being torn apart. EDG Solved the problem quickly and were thorough in their work. Will be using them again if needed.

To be honest I have to completely disagree with the reviews before. There was no delay on getting everything back to me in a speedy manner, and I was pleasantly surprised with what I got.

I wish I would have read the other Yelp review before hiring this company. It took forever to get the plans and then it was totally over engineered and would cost us a fortune to build according to the 3 estimates I got. Not to mention the destruction of our current home to add underpinning and all sorts of additional support. I have now hired another engineer who has come up with a much simpler plan, no underpinning needed and the cost to build is a third of what I would have paid with the original plan.

Be careful before you hire this company! It took us 8+years to get a grading permit. Then they over engineered the project that made it too expensive to build without informing us along the way what the costs were going to be! So if you want your dream home wishes shattered, then hire this company to do your engineering!
Also, the only reason the grading plan ever got completed was because we were constantly bugging and pushing them to move it along!
