Don't pay an engineer to come to your house unless you know what you'll get out of it. Paid money for him to look at the house, and that was all that happened, he looked at it.
No report, no email, I got a business card referral to a framing company which never called me back after a multiple calls.
It was my fault for assuming having an engineer look at the damage would be useful, but his fault for taking the job knowing nothing would come of it.
Only have the engineer show up after the framing company is there to receive the engineer's plans.
