Sacramento Acupuncture Project
The purpose of Sacramento Acupuncture Project is to make Chinese Medicine accessible by providing affordable, community-centered health care. All acupuncture treatments are individualized to meet your needs, and are performed in a quiet community space. You decide what you can afford. We will NEVER make you prove your income level.

We want you to come often enough to really get better, and the sliding scale is our way of helping you make that commitment. Have you seen the wonderful article about our clinic in the Sacramento Bee? You may use our online scheduler to set up your First Visit and/or Returning Visits. Please select "No Preference" when choosing a practitioner in order to see every available appointment slot.
Services
Most United States acupuncturists treat patients on tables in individual cubicles. This is not traditional in Asia, where acupuncture usually occurs in a community setting. In our clinic we primarily use recliners in our quiet, soothing common room.

Treating patients in a community setting has many benefits: it's easy for friends and family members to come in for treatment together; many patients find it comforting; and the collective energy of many treatments happening at once actually makes individual treatments more powerful.
Chinese Medicine is a comprehensive medical system that aims to bring the whole person into balance. This means that we can treat essentially any condition by addressing the underlying imbalance. We also treat insomnia, chronic fatigue, hypertension, headaches and much more! Please call or email us if you have questions about a specific condition that isn't listed here.
After living in the Bay Area for nearly 18 years (though I will always consider West Virginia home), I am excited to now be part of the Sacramento community! Many years working in the grueling yet rewarding food service industry created the aches and pains that initially led me to acupuncture. The results were amazing.
Non-discrimination: Sacramento Acupuncture Project does not discriminate on the basis of race or national origin, age, religion, ability, education, height, weight, body type, marital status, sexual orientation, sex, or gender identity. Our Oakland clinics and other East Bay sister clinics have just been featured in a great article about Community Acupuncture from Oakland Magazine. Staff at our Oakland clinics had a great time joining forces with Bandelion again, merging their unique blend of contemporary performance with Community Acupuncture.

Wow, just an all around gem of a community resource. I left my first visit feeling so well cared for. The in-person intake process was fairly quick as Whitney took some time to ask follow up questions about my answers from the initial online intake form. I was then led to the larger treatment room where I got to choose a chair. Before treatment, I was asked to remove my shoes and bring my pants legs above my knees. Whitney then placed the needles and I got to relax for ~45 min, although I was invited to stay for a full hour if I wanted.

They are thorough with their covid practices and protocol

The sign up and check-in process was incredibly easy for a new patient. Able to do pretty much everything online and as soon as I came in they know exactly who I was and were able to talk to me about my troubles. For the second appointment on the pay what you can method was all pretty much contactless. Very pleased with my experience and I'll be returning often! What a great community asset!

Profesional, effective, affordable at a $20-40 sliding scale. I've been having back issues for years. And after one visit, I'm already feeling my sciatica recede. Going to make weekly visits here. I highly recommend it!

Soo thankful for the existence of Sacramento Acupuncture Project! Lori and Whitney provide such a wonderful sanctuary of self care, so relaxing! I've been coming for a few weeks and every visit is so calming and restful. The needles are so tiny you barely notice them. Being so affordable means you get multiple sessions for the price of a private and being in a group setting works just fine! On your first visit they do intake and ask what you want to work on and they check in with you every return visit so it's just as customized as a private office. Parking lot is tiny but street parking is plentiful

Two lovely acupuncturists here. Very affordable. The clinic has a nice set up except the chairs are a bit uncomfortable for getting into a deep rest. Bring your own pillows 2-3, and a blanket if wanted. It wasn't quite what I was used to compared to the community acupuncture clinic I used to go to in Denver, as this one in SAC doesn't incorporate herbs, take pulses or check the tongue but nice to find one here anyway.

SAP had been on my radar for 5 or 6 years before I went in. My issue was simply that I was not sure what to expect from community acupuncture... would it be weird, would people be talking to me, would we break out into spontaneous choruses of Kumbaya... I just really couldn't wrap my mind around it. Sadly, it was a huge waste of time I could have been spent getting treatment. So that you do not make that same foolish mistake, if you too are wondering what to expect from community acupuncture, HERE is exactly what you can expect.

This place is nice and really affordable. Anyone looking to try out acupuncture should go here. And, for those that already see an acupuncture therapist, they should consider coming here, instead.
The place is clean and the staff is really nice.

I had back pain that was no longer responding to heat or ibuprofen. I was really worried because the pain was negatively impacting my quality of life. The pain decreased significantly immediately after my first session with Molly. My range of motion immediately improved and the pain was nearly gone after two sessions. I like that I was able to stay in the room with the needles for as long as I needed. I fell asleep each time and woke up feeling much better. I also like their weekend hours and evening appointment options.

If you have been considering acupuncture, do yourself a favor and go to Sacramento Acupuncture Project. You will be pleased with the results. Today was my fourth session and I have to say, I have noticed a difference in my pain levels and mood, overall.

I love the philosophy and mission of this place --- to provide acupuncture to the community at an affordable price. How great would it be if more businesses in the healing profession adopted this model? They are a gift to the community and I am glad to have found them.

It might seem uncomfortable to receive acupuncture in a shared, community

My friend comes here on a regular basis, so I was curious to check it out too since I haven't had acupuncture in 10 years.

I went to see Molly for my consultation and first session and had a really great experience with her. I found her to be very professional, inviting and willing to listen to my goals for treatment. She explained to me how to get comfortable in the reclining chair and get ready for the needles.

While the treatment is done in a community setting, I found that people respected it being a silent/low volume room and everyone was there to relax and not make a lot of noise.

This place is fantastic, and I'm so happy they're in our neighborhood!

A Community acupuncture room makes it possible to get acupuncture on a sliding scale. The facility is very clean and pleasant, and the ladies who run it are great. When you come for the first time they do a very detailed intake. Every session they ask me how things are going, if anything has changed, and if there were any treatment reactions.

I recently began seeing their resident chiropractor, Casey. She has helped me so much, as I am recuperating from an injury. I have already referred my family and several friends

MASSAGE Review

After months of being gifted a one hour massage, I finally cashed that bad boy in. The gift certificate came with a business card for a woman named Jennifer (I'm hoping this name is correct or else I'll feel really bad) who would be my masseuse. We chatted once, but the rest of our communication was via text and that totally worked for me. We set-up a time and it was the easiest process ever.

Don't let the not-so-fancy exterior and somewhat seedy area scare you. Good work is happening here. I can't speak to the acupuncture personally, but family friends rave

Attentive, friendly, helpful, great price, great energy. I love community acupuncture places because they provided such a fantastic service at a reachable price for the laymen (me). I love this clinic in particular because of the practitioners. They have good empathetic energy.

Doing this review makes me want to make an appointment right now. I think I will...

My girlfriend gets severe headaches. I suffer from constant sinus congestion and some issues with mood. We've both contemplated trying acupuncture, which is said to treat our ailments and many others - but cost has been prohibitive. We were thus delighted to learn about the Sacramento Acupuncture Project (SAP).

The idea here is, for a fraction of the price of a private session with an acupuncturist (cost is on a sliding scale, between $15 and $35) to undergo treatment in a communal room - which is very clean, comfortable, and relaxing. I've had several treatments and have never once
