Dixie Grill
The Dixie Grill is a full service Southern restaurant in Live Oak established in 1959 by Mr. & Mrs. Wade and has become a landmark in Live Oak. Charles & Myra Thomas have been the owner operators since 1984. Located in historic downtown Live Oak, it is a restaurant known by locals and visitors alike for dishes that are old favorites and snappy new items!

We specialize in comfort cuisine: big breakfasts, soul food lunch, and amazing sandwiches. Robbie Thomas aka Chef boy RT has created some fun on the menu taking traditional favorites and adding a little flare here and there. The result is a blend of contemporary cuisine infused with traditional southern ingredients he calls New South cuisine.

Love this place! Food is good & portions are large. Everyone is so friendly. We always make a point to stop in at least once when we come to Florida.

Dixie Grill has great tasting food! And I love to get brunch from them. However this is their 2nd time messing up my order, so I thought I’d write a review with a photo this time. The onions were black & tasted burnt. The biscuit was hard & dry. And, I paid extra for avocado & tomatoes. There was no avocado & maybe a few pieces of diced tomato. I hope my next meal will be satisfying & everything that I pay for.

Food is very good. Plate servings are always full (that I've had).
Waitresses are usually pretty quick and polite. Probably the best local mom and pop(?) restaurant in town for breakfast! I had one lunch here but I ordered a breakfast plate! Western omelette, grits, wheat toast and a coffee! I'm sure the lunch would be good too!

Will NEVER return. The server waited 30 minutes until she brought us our food to tell us that they didn’t have what my girlfriend ordered. So while we waited for something else to be made for her, the server never came back. We waited an hour and even asked for my girlfriends food to be taken to-go.
Come to find out we waited an hour and her ordered was never even started. We never got her food either.

Don't go there if you're in a hurry. Went on Sat. Had to wait in line to be seated, then had to wait over 35 minutes to get our food after ordering. Then the bacon was too hard to eat. The rest of the food was good. The pancakes are plate size & fluffy. Club sandwich was good except for the bacon. You pay your server. It took awhile for her to come back & pick up the card so I got up to ask if I pay up front they said no, your server. So I went back & sat down. My husband had went out. Finally I got her attention . She said they were short handed but there were at least 7 people taking care of

A good place to eat after church Sunday. I ate here twice recently while visiting family. The food was typical of a small town diner.
The fried chicken is over breaded, but the fried okra is good. The mash potatoes were made with instant potatoes or a mix. I cannot say that any particular dish was exceptional. It is a great place to see friends!

This is a cool little spot I stopped at for breakfast. I’m never up for breakfast, but today I was and decided to venture to a new place. The service was good, they kept my coffee full, and the food was awesome too. I got the steak and eggs and my steak was cooked perfectly, and so were my eggs. The hash browns also came out just like I asked. (Extra crispy with cheese and mushrooms). If you’re in the area, eat here. If you’re a local and haven’t ate here, the question is why.

I'm so happy I stopped off the highway to come here. I had the egg bubba which is a southern play on egg Benedict and added bacon and cheese to my grits and a flap jack all was cooked well. The waitress Mandy was on top of everything very nice. Really good service the bathrooms are clean

They used to have a good salad bar. Bring it back please!! Don't sit in the back unless you want to hear all gossip from the personnel sitting in the corner. My wife got the catfish special and I'm not kidding it looked like a kids meal. One piece of fish smaller than your palm for $10. We won't do that again.

This place was amazing! Stopped here for breakfast and ended up getting the pot roast. It had a amazing flavor and the portions were good size. I will be worthless for the rest of the day. It put me in a serious food coma. Going to take a nap now.

Sixty three years and you would think they might update the inside of this place, hiring new employees doesn't count. I got your Karen.

I ate here today around noon with my fiance and mother in law. It was my first time eating here and we enjoyed it a lot. You can enjoy breakfast or lunch. It's a cute diner with home style, Southern cooking and friendly service. Our drinks never ran dry, but our waitress wasn't hovering. The decor is farm house chic and the restaurant has lots of seating.

I had a sweet tea and a club sandwich. My fiance got the biscuits and gravy and a Nettles link sausage. The sweet tea was perfectly sweet and the club was a nice double decker with crispy bacon. The biscuits and gravy was nothing special

The food is good at this restaurant. However you won't get what you ordered or have a hard time getting it right unless you're a friend of theirs. The waitresses are argumentative and do not know the menu. The staff and ownership seem to be ignorant of customer service skills of any type. They will ignore people they don't know and jump through hoops for ones they do. I would not go to this restaurant unless you are friends of theirs or down right desperate or need a lesson in how not to run a restaurant.

My brother-in-law paid $47 for 3 pies for Thanksgiving. The lemon meringue was great. The pecan had a slightly overdone crust. But the pie insides were wonderful. Now the coconut creme crust was so burnt, the taste of the pie was changed and made the pie awful. Nothing is worse than a refrigrated pie with a burnt crust. Pies were of good size.

I had no idea this great restaurant is so close to home! Planning a visit back to Live Oak to explore the quaint downtown and eat at this fabulous place again. Both the smoked chicken and fried chicken are fantastic - big pieces and juicy! The sides taste like home cooking and the little salad bar was perfect with everything needed to make a great salad!

We tried out this restaurant on an early Sunday morning. Our waitress Anee was THE BEST WAITRESS we have EVER had! She was the nicest lady and had our food out in no time. We had the French toast and omelette! She even found some sugar free jelly (that is always so hard to come by) loved the way they worded their menu. Will definitely be back when we're in the area again
