Circle CA of San Francisco is a 501c3 nonprofit organization and certified green business. Our purpose is to provide and promote public access to affordable acupuncture. We make acupuncture accessible by offering a patient determined sliding scale fee. We strive to remove financial, cultural, and educational barriers to patient access of acupuncture centered healthcare.
We provide skilled acupuncture, herbal medicine, and massage in a peaceful and respectful group setting. Acupuncture is an effective way to treat acute and chronic pain, lift depression, calm stress and anxiety, improve sleep, aid digestion, support a healthy immune system and cope with trauma and PTSD.

Services
Melissa Craven, LAc (she/her) was born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia. She has called San Francisco home since 2001. She received a Masters from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and has been a licensed acupuncturist since 2008. That same year, she co-founded Circle Community Acupuncture with David Lesseps and Jenn Holley.
An acupuncture treatment should not be painful. Once the needles are placed, most of our patients feel relaxed, peaceful and they often take a brief, restorative nap. At Circle Community Acupuncture, we regularly treat pain (acute and chronic), stress, anxiety, depression, allergies, low energy, low immunity, colds, flus, menstrual disorders, poor digestion, insomnia and fertility.

We've heard that many offices in the city are downsizing as their employees transition to working from home indefinitely.

Melissa and the team at Circle literally saved me! I injured my back and could barely walk from the pain. I found them thorugh a web search and was able to make an appointment on the same day. With three days of treatments, my pain diminished to a manageable level, and because of the decrease in pain, I'm able to relax and let my body continue to heal on its own. The staff is friendly and helpful. The space is quiet and calming and you can't hear any street noise. Covid Precaution protocols are in place, so you feel safe (everyone is required to wear a mask). Parking is easy, metered street parking

I have been going to Claudia who works at Circle for over a year now and she has been instrumental in helping me with a whole series of issues that (thanks to her) are no longer a problem. I so appreciate having someone who is able to listen, interpret, and adjust to how my body is responding to treatments. I never feel rushed and always feel listened to. Plus I feel great afterwards. I thought it would be awkward to get acupuncture in a group setting but it isn't at all! I highly recommend Claudia and Circle!

This place was a lifesaver when I needed it. The care I received from Melissa was very personal and thorough. She had some of the best bedside manner I've ever received and was very thoughtful and considerate in understanding my needs and helping me work on various issues. I worked nearby and would stop in during the work day, and even after I left the neighborhood I would still go out of my way to come back to Circle Community Acupuncture. I highly recommend it for quality treatment and affordable prices.

Circle Community is my favorite acupuncture clinic in the Bay. I have been going here for about 6 years. I visited Circle Community at least once a week for years. I used to work in Soma, and would walk the twenty minutes to the clinic.
Melissa, what up homegirl?, and the crew really care. Everyone is super friendly and experienced. Every time that I visited I left feeling more grounded and relaxed. This is old school SF right here. From the first step into the world of Circle Community Acupuncture, I was aware of the healing nature of this place. I felt so supported and comforted by Melissa who listened to my story and concerns and then directed me to my chair for treatment. It had been years since I had acupuncture and I was not disappointed in the process and outcome. The next day my sore back felt stronger and I had more energy. I loved Melissa's touch and her work.

Nothing else heals me like their bodywork and acupuncture!
Pamela greatly healed my decade-long neck pain in my first 30 minute massage. My neck randomly turns into my worst enemy and doesn’t allow me to turn or tilt my head back to drink water or move during sleep. I’ve tried almost everything: so many Kaiser physical therapists and bodywork modalities. Pamela was the only one that made it so I could walk out with 95% neck mobility, even though I saw her with an acute issue.
I cannot thank Pamela enough.
And I’ve never slept so deeply during a massage and felt so mushy after.

I had gone to about 20 acupuncturists before I found Melissa and David.
They are the most talented and caring! Seeing them is like seeing old friends that are always there for you.
Out of all the community acupuncture clinics, this is the one where I feel like they care about me and the community.
I cannot thank them enough for healing me AND truly caring about my eviction where my landlord said for more than a year that she was going to move in her relative.
Melissa even gave me leads to help with my situation! I love her dark sense of humor.
