Although born in Indiana, Dr. Lunstrum spent most of his early years in Tallahassee. Following his undergraduate studies in Biology at Florida State University in 1997, Dr. Lunstrum attended the University Of Florida College Of Dentistry, graduating in 2001 with his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree.

At your hygiene visit you'll receive a gentle, professional cleaning by one of our hygienists - as well as an Oral Cancer Screening by Dr. Lunstrum. Some visits will include x-rays to help diagnose conditions or probing (measuring) of the gum tissue around the teeth to ascertain your periodontal health.
A Tooth Filling is a common restorative dental procedure that treats the effects of cavities. After a cavity is identified and any decay is removed from a tooth, the tooth is then "filled" in with a material in order to fill the gap and to stabilize it. Materials used for fillings can be metal, porcelain, or composite.
A missing tooth can be replaced by an implant (basically a titanium screw in your jaw) which takes the place of the tooth root. Upon that, a crown would be placed. This, of course, is a simplified explanation but it gives you the general idea.
Depending on the quality and quantity of the bone in the area of the desired implant, it may take months to improve the area (bone graft) and then additional time for an implant to fully integrate (essentially when the rebuilding bone binds around the implant threads) prior to having it restored with a crown.

I had received a crown from another dentist and despite multiple visits trying to explain that the bite was off and giving me pain, they did not address it. They then gave me a referral to a periodontist. I was confident that it was a bite issue (mainly because the opposing tooth was hurting as well) so I went to Dr. Lunstrom's office. His staff was excellent, professional and supportive. He took extra time trying to resolve the bite issue and told me to come back anytime to repair it if the teeth shift again. My hygienist is Karen, and she is excellent, but no matter who you see you will be well cared for. Visiting a dentist does not have to be stressful, really. It is a pleasure to visit Dr. Lunstrum’s office. Aside from the lovely and relaxing environs outside, you immediately feel warm and fuzzy inside. The office is clean and welcoming. The staff is polite and professional. You RARELY wait more than a few minutes if that. The staff is knowledgeable and up to date in their skills. And I keep trying to win that raffle!

Could not ask for a better place to keep my teeth clean and my teeth healthy. Dr. Lunstrum knows his business. Excellent dentist with excellent skills and a very friendly person as well . In fact all of his staff are so very professional in their skills and so friendly always making you feel comfortable when you visit, great people. I have been a patient at Cocoa Village dentistry since before Dr Lundstrom came! I have always been a satisfied patient, which is why I have been there for over 20 years! The office is a great location, allowing you to look at the beautiful marina while getting treatment, making it as relaxing an environment as possible, considering you are getting dentist work done! ;-) The staff is very friendly and do a great job. Dr Lundstrom is a very good dentist and I always appreciate his humor. I have received great care and plan to stick around for a long time to come!

I have been a patient at Cocoa Village Dentistry since 2004 and while some people may be disinclined going to the dentist I actually find it not only bearable but also enjoyable. The entire staff add a very positive vibe and it feels very "small town" friendly. Very friendly yet still very professional. With all of my visits Dr. Lunstrum always spends adequate time assessing my dental health--even after routine cleanings. The highlight of each of my visits is Veronica my hygienist, of course! Dr Lunstrum and his entire staff are always very welcoming, kind and professional making "going to the dentist" a pleasurable experience. It is always impeccably clean, neat and sterile which is nice considering the potential health hazards in any medical facility and environment. I sincerely appreciate Dr. Lunstrum and the staff in providing a welcoming environment and comforting experience. The office is neat, clean, orderly, and efficient; yet it provides a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff is knowledgeable, professional, and very friendly. My wife and I have been visiting this dentistry for more years than I can recall. We never had any reason to complain, only positive experiences.
