In a perfect world one code would impact the design and placement of signs, but in reality numerous laws, codes and authorities have jurisdiction regarding this topic. Chapter 7 has much of the information pertaining to sign design, but related information can also be found in chapters 2, 3 and 4. The SEGD produced a whitepaper on the draft of this new law in 2006 (prior to passage of the final).
