Lien Funeral Home has been serving families in Edmunds, Walworth, Potter, and McPherson counties since 1926. I have been managing the funeral home since January of 1992. The business is known as Lien-Straub Funeral Chapel. Please stop by often as I plan on making this an important ingredient to achieve complete client family satisfaction.
Services
In 1926, Bert deMalignon moved to Bowdle and established deMalignon Funeral Home. He operated the business until his death in 1956. Mrs. deMalignon managed the business until October of that year when she sold it to Ray Schriver. In 1963 the Millers added a funeral chapel in Selby which was operated out of the former First National Bank building on Selby's Main Street.
We understand that making the many decisions which come at a time of loss can be difficult. We offer our support by providing you with two options as you consider making immediate arrangements. Please call us at (605)285-6909 to make arrangements in person with a caring professional. With online Arrangements, you can take your time to select the arrangements which are best for your preferences and budget.
In addition to the Liens, other people currently employed at Lien Funeral Home are Jack Feldmeier and Harvey Leidholt. Being located in a small town, Lien Funeral Home has always been staffed with only a single licensed practitioner. The Liens feel very fortunate to have the dedicated, competent assistance that Jack, Arvis, and Harvey provide.
The general contractor was Curtis Bollinger of Curt's Quality Carpentry in Bowdle. The new funeral home is beautifully appointed and boasts a chapel that can seat 150 people. The chapel can also be divided into two very spacious slumber rooms. Although located in a town of 550, we believe it is as accommodating as most big city funeral homes.
Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
